To reiterate the specs: 8 GB Internal Storage, 1 GB RAM, runs Android 5.1.1 and is 4G LTE. I've used a wide range of TracFone smartphones ranging from the ZTE Valet to the LG Optimus Fuel to the Motorola Moto E. I'll admit that the price point had me skeptical - I was afraid this phone was going to feel and run cheap but that couldn't be further from the truth. This phone feels solid in the hand and runs great. No freezing, no lag, no glitches. The only real con here is the system is a bit of a memory hog. The system memory is around 4.7 GB, leaving me with 3.3 GB available space. That made me nervous until I updated all of the on-board apps and then added in other apps such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, The Weather Channel, and a few others. I still had around 1.7 GB left available. I highly recommend installing a microSD card to hold photos, music, etc. I do recommend clearing out your cache regularly to free up more available space (Settings>Storage>Used Space>Cached Data). I am a heavy web user, so do so each evening before bed. **With TracFone, there is no bloatware to contend with - so you won't be stuck with unnecessary apps that need uninstalled or disabled. So many pros here that I don't know where to begin. First, BIG pro, front 'selfie' camera as well as a rear camera with flash and built-in flashlight. Not much to say about the front camera - it is basic and you need to have decent lighting for a good picture - but there is a timer, making it easier to take selfies. The rear camera has some nifty features - I prefer the manual setting and there is an on-screen grid to help me line up the subjects of my pics. The flash is really bright - I can take a picture of my dog in the middle of the night outside with just the flash and it turns out nice (just hard to tell if she is saying 'cheese' for the camera). The position of the power and volume keys (power on top, volume on the side) makes screen grabs a cinch. The charging port on the side is so nice because the phone can stand upright in a stand, meaning I can still use it while charging. I generally go for the less expensive phones - which generally means foregoing some cool features. Not so with this phone. When a call comes in, I love that I have the option on screen to decline the call (you don't usually see that with a budget phone). The call quality is great, as well. There is an LED Notification light, so you never have to wonder if you are missing something important such as a text, voicemail, email, or other notification. For those who don't care for the LED light, it can be turned off manually if you wish. The Power Manager section is awesome - you can know at-a-glance how much available battery time you have based on the activity type (call, music, web, video, standby). The screen is small - only 4" - smaller than what I'm used to using. I found that when using Chrome as your browser, you can tweak the settings to turn off the homepage (defaulted to a TracFone website). This will make your browser screen appear bigger and easier to use. I have to give it to ZTE and TracFone - they created one heck of a nice phone for under $50. You can't beat it for the price and specs.
This is a brand-new Android from ZTE, featuring Android OS 5.1 (updated only a few weeks ago!), quad-core CPU and 1GiB RAM. For $50 this is such a deal! Everything runs fast and smoothly even when multitasking. I would however recommend purchasing a MicroSDHC card, which isn't included in this package. Even though the handset has an internal memory of 8GiB supposedly, most of it is already used by OS and built-in apps (which cannot be removed), so it only leaves around 2GiB. I also love how crisp the screen display is compared to ZTE's older smartphone models.
Great service was exactly as expected
Easy to learn
Works well and user friendly! Great price also!
I love this phone upgraded from LG Optimus Fuel. One the system takes up 5+ gb of space from the 8 gb internal storage. Does not leave much to do anything. Other thing is the reception bar shows hardly any reception at all. I got quite a bit with the other phone. So I do not know why the reception is so poor. I mean I make a call and seems fine but the reception bar is low. No matter where you are. I also that this phone is CDMA but it takes a sim card. So I am kind of confused because other CDMA do not use sim cards, GMS does. So I wonder if it is a hybrid network. I looked at the network under settings and says it is a CDMA network. So this makes no sense to me. Unless, I really have a GSM phone but put on a CDMA network and that is why my reception is low. Oh well, as long as it works.
This a pretty nice phone for the price. It maybe a basic phone for many who have been using smartphones for a while but this was my first. The main reason I am returning it is because I wanted a phone with a built in FM radio like my daughter and friends have on theirs. This phone does not have it, I even asked about this in the questions and tracfone responded with yes it does. It does not. I can download radio apps that use the net, but no receiver for free local radio. I'm not sure if this phone even has a radio chip. There is no mention of anything about built radio or radio chips in the owners manual. I returning it to find something else.
Needs to have a lot more information and instructions in their literature for this product.
Made the awful mistake of buying one of these ZTE phones...didn't know 'bout the 15 day limit on returning it...and now I'm stuck! Nothing on the wrapping said it was not even a 24 hour battery, nothing about how very SMALL the icons are...but what Is Mentioned, is that one of the chemicals that they use CAN BE INJURIOS TO YOUR HEALTH! I bought it at W.Mart, and within the first week, I had taken it back, 'cause one of the features I liked, was the flashlight. That stopped the first week, the icon disappeared, and when I turned the phone ON, the flashlight also came on, then wouldn't Go OFF ! Went to the ZTE website..no tutorial...but then I discovered that ZTE was a company that couldn't make it here, Luscent, Alcatel etc. I'm hoping I'll lose it, and get a good phone. I blame Tracfone for partnering with ZTE!
It worked okay for about 2 wks. Then starts telling me I'm roaming and couldn't get my text Or messages Took it back to walmart 2 x they called the co. And couldn't get any where with them WalMart was great This co Sucks. Save your money don't buy a tracfone.
