I have emphysema and the dry air in my air makes my nose quite sensitive. I have used many other humidifiers and so far I am enjoying this one very well. I can adjust it to warm or cool which it does not tell you in the description but is a Big Plus for me it helps with my breathing. I really like this product. I am hoping that it last for a long time. It will get used 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. If you have a child with allergies that require humiditiy levels being careful this is the unit for you. I can not say enough good about this unit.
I bought this product based on the reviews I read. They were right on the money. Our whole family has dry skin. My son's hands actually bleed during the winter! We were desperate for something to help us battle the dry air. I set the humidity level I want the room to reach and the volume of output of mist. I can see what the humidity level is at any given time because the numbers are lit. I love being able to aim the mist spout anywhere I want it to go. And the unit is light enough to move anywhere in the room. I fill the unit once a day and let it run 24-7. For the FIRST TIME during the winter our family doesn't walk around the house and get static shocks from touching objects or each other. I use one unit for the entire main level of our house. We recently took a trip for 3 days and stayed in a hotel. Wow. Did we notice a difference in the dry air! At first I thought the humidifier was a bit pricey for something so small, but I'm GLAD I spent the money. It has made a huge difference so far this winter.
After researching Humidifiers for a week, I had decided on a $90 ultrasonic humidifier from somewhere else on line. From all of my readings, I wanted four things: Ultrasonic (bacteria prevention vs wick type + quiet) Ion generator (cleaner air) Humidistat (displays + meters humidity %) heated mist capable (helps warm in winter months) I could not find one anywhere, so I was going to settle for 2 out of four. As a last ditch effort, I looked on Walmart.com... and there it was. I could get it all with this unit. It is the only humidifier I could find with every feature. I have been using it in our infants room for a month now and am very pleased. In a perfect world I would prefer if it had a better way for holding the tank when filling. There is no handle on the bottom side to hold onto while filling. Also, in order to get the humidity up to 50% in a 12 x 12 room, with forced air heat, I have to keep the door closed. This may be true of any humidifier though. Again, I am very pleased with this purchase.
I bought two and both worked great although one had a bad display. Walmart exchanged the bad one with no problem. This product keeps the room at the desired humidity level without using much water. The remote works well.
I love this product because you can actually see the mist and can tell a difference in your breathing. Our first night using this product we didn't no what to expect but the next morning our home was filled with the mist from the front to the back. Our home is around 2200sq ft. So it can be used to help with the humidity throughout our home which is great. But the one thing and I believe someone else posted this already, the machine says that the tank is empty too early. A lot of water can still be in the tank but it will not cut on because it thinks that it is empty. All in all it's great.
Used daily for last 4 weeks. Easy to use, pretty quiet in all modes of operation. Warm mist is not much different from cool mist. Last about 12 hrs on highest mist setting and about 24 hrs on medium high setting. With build in humidistat not sure why you would use the remote control, we set it and just refilled the water in the morning and evenings. Not sure of the reliability and have not been able to find any spare parts in store (in particular the water filter, but did come with a spare transducer/mist maker)
overall a decent product. We use it every night. It does take some time to warm up. It puts a decent amount of humidity in the room without having to move a lot of air. It is quiet and doesn't require a ten-dollar filter every two weeks. My only complaint is that the filter media (tiny granules) tend to leak out of the filter screen and also the valve. It causes the valve to stick sometimes (once a week) and you have to push it back in a few times to free it up so the water will flow again. The controls and humidity readout is nice. I wish it didn't beep every time you press a button - annoying. Overall a decent product and I would purchase again.
After going through several humidifier reviews and ratings, I narrowed down on this one. I was primarily looking for an ultrasonic one (quiet and filter free), with humidity indicator and a warm mist option. This one has all the three features and also a bonus remote to control the settings and ionic filter. The price is very reasonable when you compare it with other models offering the same feature. It runs continously for 2 days before requiring a refill and is very quiet. My only problem is that filling the water is bit of a problem since the container with its rounded top does not balances on its head and you have to hold it carefully. Another thing is that this same design model is shown on allergyconsumerreview.com as the second best overall choice (next to the $229 Air-o-Swiss model) but listed as Ecor Humdifier while this one is made by Wind-Chaser. I did not find any difference between the two except that the one at Walmart is half the price. So, to sum it all I would recommend this humidifier. It offers the best features at a very modest price.
This humidifer does good work but has design defects. When water in the tank is used up, this unit will try to restart in every several minutes and give annoying humming noise. It waked me up in three midnights - two nights because I forgot to fill up the tank and one night because of the malfunctions of the water level sensor. I end this up by returning it to Walmart.
This humidifier is not built well. It definitely needs to have an opening on top because it is very hard to hold it while filling in the water. The material that it came with it doesn't explaining anything how it supposed to be set up, I had to go online and find the information from other sites. Poor, poor design and wouldn't recommend it to others to buy it.
