Unfortunately I was really looking forward to this remake. I am a big fan of the original 1 and 2 and even H20. The originals gave Meyers a mythical or sadistic quality which turly added to the character. This has none of that. Just another strong Psycho. Also the Laurie Strode character has no development and you really didnt care if she got slashed or not. The Dr. Loomis with Macdowell was ok and prob the only reason I gave it a fair rating. He did a pretty good job trying to keep it scary but he need alot of help he never gets.

I am a huge fan of this movie with an extensive collection of memorabilia. I knew before this movie was released what Zombie would do to it. Don't get me wrong, I like his music but his movies leave a little something to be desired. As did this one. I was so disappointed when I saw it at the theatre. It isn't a 'remake', it was a complete do over. And a sorry one at that. Nothing in it was the same as the original. The only reason I purchased it was to have a complete series.
