I remember watching this movie when I was 5 or 6 on the Disney Channel, and fell in love with it right from the start. For it's time the special effects were stellar and the story line was engrossing. Great Characters, especially the villainous robot Maximillion. Still my favorite villain.
Wonderful story and special effects for it's time...
Love it. Very classic. A dark movie for Disney. Not appropriate for very little ones.
The Black Hole is a Disney Scifi flick. It is the story of a spaceship which comes upon a gigantic blackhole and finds another ship seemingly suspended within it. The script is well written and well acted. The cast is excellent. While the science might be a bit shakey, the set design is great. The robots are quiet, cute, and sometimes deadly. This is a film for all ages. The dvd is of excellent quality and includes a making featurette and trailer.
reminds me so much of todays space movies
I enjoy this movie. I remember watching this when I was I a kid. The only thing I dis-like. It is wide screen. Wish they offer it full and wide screen. Other then that it is a good movie.
My husband was so happy his VHS one sound went bad was told by FYI no longer available so glad Walmart had sound is great and picture to
the was disney's early scifi movie before the cult classic TRON. movie has good special effects for the era it was filmed and told a scifi story without all the techno babel and still explain the basis of how a black hole works. the villan maximillon meeting his end and well as the evil scientist is a bit paying the piper at the end for their bad deeds.
As DVD's go, it's fine. Wish it was a Blu-Ray. Not the greatest Disney has done, but it's good to see Ernest Borgnine, Maximillian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Yvette Mimieux, and hear Roddy McDowell again.
