I have some food intolerances and this is the only bar I can have. Plus, they taste amazingly good, my friends always find a reason to steal one in the box... I always carry plenty of them when travelling since they are filling, tasty and easy to carry around.
These bars are delicious! Keep them in my drawer at work for a convenient and healthy option when I can't get out for lunch. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was looking for a meal replacement bar for my breakfast on the go, and this is great! I've tried the chocolate cherry, chocolate peanut butter, and the coconut almond flavors. The first two a super tasty, but I'm not a fan of the coconut almond. The texture of this one was a little different than the others. I highly recommend.
I love these bars, they are a nice change of pace from the shakes. They are textured and not pasty like other bars I've had. I've had the chocolate peanut butter, the coconut cashew and the salted caramel flavors. The salted caramel were a little dry but it's still nice to have a variety of flavors to avoid getting burnt out.
Both my aging mother and myself use the delicious meal bars for meal substitue, she because they are quite low in salt and she has a failing appetite and me as I often forget to eat lunch as I'm running around. We love the chocolate peanutbutter, and the chocolate cherry, but can't find the cherry anymore, very sad!!!! Neither of us like the third one. And there used to be chocomint? If you bring back one please, let it be the cherry. We miss having options. Thanks!
These taste great, they're chewable, and have a good nutrient profile - all qualities that set them apart from much of the competition. The one thing they're lacking is Potassium. Already in short supply in the Western diet, I consider this a must-have in any full meal bar.
Vega One Chocolate Cherry and Vega Sport Chocolate Mint were ride-or-die staples in my regimen, getting my through many a hectic schedule... and now they're both gone?! This is TERRIBLE! Now all bars appear to be coconut or peanut butter, yuck. I picked up some Chocolate Caramel "protein snack" bars yesterday, and am completely underwhelmed. Part of what I loved about Vega: you offered bars in flavors I couldn't find in every other bar on the market. Now they're just the same in a sea of blah. I still love Vega powders, and will always keep those stocked in my pantry. But I can no longer rabidly recommend the meal replacement bars as I once did. Disappointing.
Well, the peanutbutter and the coconut-cashew flavour are both ok, but nothing compared to the cherry- almond witch is not available any more. Not that I wouldn't recommend the other two as well.... but every time i think about getting vega bar my mind goes ... "WHY DID YOU TAKE THE CHERRY- ALMOND FLAVOUR FROM THE ASSORTMENT?"
I like their peanut butter chocolate Vegan One bars better as it's more gooey. I think the coconut makes it a bit more drier. I will probably opt for the peanut butter on my next buy, however, i'm concerned that they use Palm Kernel Oil as an ingredient. I've been told that our rainforests are being depleted so i'm not sure how ethical it would be for me to continue on with my purchases.
I've had trouble finding a good vegan protein bar that isn't made from soy. First bite of this one reminds me of a chocolate bar. I am a chocolate lover, but the taste is too rich and too sugary. About a half hour after eating the bar, I'm hungry and have an awful headache! I was hoping this would be a good mid-afternoon snack and instead I am ready for another meal along with a nap. I'm very disappointed in the lack of nutrition this bar provides. To me, it's not a real protein bar .. but instead a candy bar. All the nutrition and plant-based whole foods Vega tried to provide are ruined by the sugar and processed ingredients they plumped into it. Over-priced and highly disappointed.
