This set is great for anyone wanting to know more of the story. I bought this for my husband as a gift because he is a "Lord of the Rings" nut. He has watched this over and over.
Just a fantastic collection of the Lord of the Ring films! The 1080p makes the dvd versions look horrible and the extra scenes and special features are brilliant.
Big thumbs uhpp on my purchase of the lord of the rings trilogy extended edition (: I would highly recommend that u guys buy a copy for your selves.

Complete extended edition blu-ray set of Lord of the Rings - 16 disks worth of film history - $45. What more needs to be said. This was the most amazing deal I have ever seen.
If you loved the movies at the theater, this is the next best thing. And you can pause it to go to the restroom!
I purchased this collection on Black Friday for only $55. Having just upgraded my entire home theater system, I sat down on the weekend and started watching the extra features first. I found the behind-the-scenes content fascinating. Next, I started watching the movies and they were fantastic on Blu-ray through a high-end home theater system. I recommend purchasing this action-packed trilogy.
Certainly, if you're any kind of "Lord of the Rings" fan, you'll want these DVDs just for the extra scenes. They do an excellent job of fleshing out the story, filling in important details
Been wanting this for a long time and finally got it. Great extra content and of course best trilogy EVER!
The shipping was great I got it within two days, and the movies are masterpieces, but not everything shown in the advertisement pictures is here. The box is here, the blue ray disc's are in perfect condition, the little papers are here, but the secondary box (the one with the map of middle earth) is nowhere to be seen, and I have to knock a star because of that, I really wanted that cool box :( . Something else is that the blue ray cases for the disc's are in good condition, but the one for "the fellowship of the ring" isn't actually a blue ray case, it's a "4kUltra Hd", Case, everything else is normal but the plastic case says it's 4k. Someone else might care about something like this but I just find it funny and don't particularly care, and to be honest I actually wouldn't want to trade it in for a normal one, after all it makes for a good conversation starter. So overall I am happy, but I really wanted that box with the map.
