This pitcher refills exceptionally fast and holds a lot of water compared to other brands, which is why I purchased it. (I previously used a Brita water faucet filter in the kitchen, but my family hated the awkwardness and slow water flow.) The Filtrete water tastes great, plus I like that the filter is recyclable. Highly recommend this pitcher, but suggest you mark your calender for the 3-month replacement date. I'm on my 2nd replacement filter and each time I've had to replace it before the filter indicated. That is the only reason why I gave "Meets Expectations" a 4 star rating instead of 5.
I found that the Filtrete water pitcher was a real advantage for both myself and my brother. My brother is a diabetic and needs to drink a lot of water. I would scolled him because he drank only a glass once in a while. Now aftering having the Filtrete wter pitcher he found that he like the taste of water for the first time. So thrilled that he is drinking a lot of water and that is so much better for him. Thak yu Filtrete for helping me help my brother.
Even with a bad economy, when money is even tighter, health should never take a back seat. One of the many ways, I stay healthy is with my Filtrete water pitcher. I never drink bottled water,(can I trust their safety)? How do I know someone is getting the water from the tap, and sticking a fancy label on it. I trust my Filtrete water pitcher, so much that I buy them as gifts, especially in the homes where I can get thirsty and asked for water.
Bought the water bottle filtration which I love and then I saw the water pitcher. I had to have it because it is great for cooking and other applications! Had to by my neighbor one too!
This is exactly what I needed since we make bottles for our baby and we have saved money on bottled water. Just make sure you let water run through it enough when you first buy it so it will not leave the grit in your glass.
We always (luckily) had well water but recently moved and now have city water which tastes awful and smells like swimming pool water. We had been using the filtered water dispensed from our refrigerator to drink and also make coffee, tea, and to cook with, but it took forever to fill up a pot! We looked at all the brands of pitchers and decided on this one. It has surpassed our expectations. The water tastes great and there is no smell whatsoever! The pitcher is easy to use and because of the fast fill time, I am able to keep the pitcher full at all times. I use this filtered water for everything now! It's very handy and I find that I am drinking more water because of it. The filters are also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this product! One bit of advice: when filling the pitcher with tap water, be sure to NOT let the water run over the top of the filter and do NOT overfill otherwise you will end up with unfiltered water mixed in with the filtered water.
Ok! Purposely waited a few months to test the water pitcher/filter. I Love the pitcher. My water had a very twangy, chemical taste to it and, no way could I drink it. We had one of the other brands but, I was very limited on cash and found this for several dollars less and decided I'd try it! What a break/bargain! Not only is it much quicker at filtering, once it is spent, you can put all but the filtering material in the recycle! My water tastes nice and clear/clean. I use it all the time. Not only for just keeping full and in the fridge for drinking but, take out while cooking and use to filter the water before I use and, to fill my furrchildrens water dish. I've had the pitcher for about 4 months or more now and am just over filter being half spent (oh! love the replacement indicator on top too!). THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD MAKE IT 100% PERFECT! Is some type of flap or turn closure on the spout or pour opening. I keep a folded papertowel over the opening to keep from absorbing fridge aroma's. Great Buy for price though!
Its been over a month since we bought this filter and it seems to work well. We live in sanford, Fl and according to the water quality report the water is good for consumption now. earlier there was a water boil notice. So since they removed the warning we decided to but a filter pitcher. Its convenient to fill it . It has a time strip which is turning red telling us when to replace the filter. A relief from the bottled water....i m pregnant so i drink gallons of water a day and this is a good option to replace bottled water..... i dont know how it will work further so giving it a four star for now. i will update after a few months of use.
The Filtrete pitcher with fast flow filter is convenient and fills very quickly. There was a strong metallic tast for about the first 10 pitchers and that was after following the instructions for putting the new filter in and running a number of pitcher fulls through. Now it seems to be doing OK. It is kind of bulky for just personal us but if for a family all sharing may be ok size. I don't know that I would recommend it to others but I absolutely would not discourage. I often use other Filtrete products and typically am satisfied.
I am very disappointed with this product. The first filter worked great and I was so pleased with its performance and the taste of my water. The next two filters I purchased let carbon filter into the pitcher (see picture of carbon that has settled on the bottom of pitcher) and the water tasted just like tap water. I also don’t like the design of the pitcher because it leaves the water open to the air even when the lid is on. Now I have a bulky pitcher taking up precious cabinet space. I called the company and they sent me two replacement filters but they are no better :( Poor quality control???? I think so!
