This acrylic chalk paint was so easy to apply. I like that I can apply it to finished or unfinished furniture. The 16 oz jar is perfect size to get done what I needed to get done. I was able to layer this product with no issues. I definitely recommend
Waverly has always been one of my favorite paint brands and the acrylic chalk paint in Sandstone is one of their best. The color is very good for painting skin and other organic qualities in nature. I like to paint as a hobby and these paints are of excellent quality, imparting a vibrant and realistic color. I would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys painting, be it as a beginner or expert level.
I chose the 16OZ Waverley inspiration chalk acrylic paint with a matte finish in SANDSTONE color. The sandstone color is beautiful and neutral so it goes with just about and decor. This chalk paint is great to give my projects that distressed look without too much effort. It's ready to use right out of the bottle which is another plus. I can't wait to explore all the different colors.
My review is essentially for the whole Waverly line of paint. I like mixing variations of the ivory, white or mineral. And the grays and greens are beautiful....the black is the best I've found. I've tried so many chalk paint brands and this is honestly the same (or better) quality than other brands who make false claims and charge high prices. Waverly doesn't have to do marketing or rely on “stockists” to push the product, it sells itself. The adhesion is impressive (with basic prep) the finish is true matte and colors are very pigmented. It's thick so it's good to mix in a little water and do thin coats. With light sanding there's virtually no brush strokes (use a good brush). I am not a fan of their wax and personally use another brand for clear topcoat. Otherwise, I can't recommend it enough for furniture...and more.
Love it! Love the look of my dated furniture that's now been revamped thanks to this paint
This was my first time using chalk paint and I was very pleased. The color is nice, more of a dark off white but not as dark as beige. It's definitely lighter than the color on the labels. It's more of the color you see through the plastic bottle. The paint goes on easily and covers well. I decided to give new life to an old lamp and it looks great. I used two light coats. I haven't decided if I want to distress it but for now I'm happy with it. It's water based paint and came off my hands and the paintbrush very easily with soap and water. If you decide to paint directly from the bottle the opening really only accommodates a brush less than 1-1/2”.
The Waverly Inspirations acrylic matte chalk paint in sandstone is a great paint to work with. It goes on smoothly and dries quickly. It does take a couple of coats of paint, but most paints do. It has a nice matte finish and the color is great! I am working on a jungle themed baby shower and the earthy tone of this paint works perfectly for the projects for it. I am currently using it on wood, but it does state that it can be used on furniture, glass, metal and more.
This chalk paint is a pretty, neutral tan without too much yellow. It's called sandstone and it's a good description of the color. I would not say it's no prep, as for best results, all surfaces must first be cleaned (degreased), sanded and even primed. I like to do a test spot and then let it dry and scratch it with my nail. If it flakes right off, go ahead and prime your whole surface or else you'll be kicking yourself later. It's a thin paint so it takes a few coats. Lightly sand between coats to help reduce brush marks. It can be used as is, but I like to add a layer of protection to all my furniture because, kids. I add a top coat, satin polycrylic, in a high use area like a table top, etc. It's pretty low odor so I was able to paint indoors with no issues and it dries fast.
Color makes an excellent match for an antique white. We used this on our fireplace mantelpiece and surround for a more farmhouse look.
Decided to try this on my brick fireplace to change the look %26 I love it! Easy cleanup, easy to use %26 dried quickly.
