This is not a 'heating' item. This is a topographical item like a sports cream (Ben-gay, icyhot, etc). However, this item works better for me than any of those. For on thing, it relies on capsicum instead of menthol to stimulate blood to the area. If that sounds familiar, it is the same ingredient in pepper spray. This is the tough stuff. The other is that the pad generally stays where I put it. That means that I can put it on the knots in my back and then walk around all day without worrying about it slipping or falling out (the way you have to with heat packs). Highly recommended for people who would normally use an ointment, liniment, or cream. Keeps the medicine where it needs to be for hours at a time.
I have chronic knee pain and have tried almost all of pain patches. This one works the best for me.
A Thermocare product is better in that it has s true deep heat, however, these really have their place and thus earn high marks. Sometimes if you're going to be too active to truly hold a Thermocare "belt" on, or the soreness is in a place where even a Thermocare doesn't do well, use one of these Well Patches. They're great, they hold on, they do what they promise as in making your sore muscle or knee or elbow gain relief, and when it's time to remove them, they come off without hassle and don't leave residue. They're also NOT like some mentho rubs that almost burn they are so "cold," and they hide themselves under clothing just fine. You're not wasting your money!
These heating pads are the same price ar dollar general, last 10 hrs, not burning hot just warm enough to relieve the muscle pain or soreness or spasms your having. I wear these while I'm working or riding in the car. Never put one on as soon as you get out of shower
I'd been experiencing pretty intense sciatic pain for about 7 weeks, with little to no relief from the pain meds I am on. I used the Well Patch Capsaicin Patches, and had relief within a day. After using them off and on for a week to 10 days, I have had no sciatic pain for 5-7 days. I've dealt with pain my whole life. I have never had a product like this work as well. I'd say forget gels, roll-ons, etc., and grab some Well Patch Capsaicin Patches and see what happens. They are reasonably priced for the relief they deliver. One thing...only the Well Patch brand works and does not have "sticking" and comfort problems. You don't even know it is there!
This specific patch is just large enough to cover my back and it is hot enough for long enough to give me relief. I have literally brought home one of each patch to try them all out and THIS one, won. I'll never buy another kind. We are always purchasing these patches in bulk. We grab the entire box when we go.
The large patch helps the pain across my lower back. The relief lasts for 8 hrs. & has gotten me thru many nights of work. I think I will put one on before I run the sweeper tomorrow. They can be cut in half & used on a smaller area. And for a buck, I put one in every purse I use & extra in the drawer. Great product to ease the pain!
It may have helped a teeny bit but the patch ended up being too hot and I didn't feel.much relief. May work different for others, though.
Was in a car accident over the weekend and needed something to help with my sore muscles. Put it on and it started burning but to the point I felt like someone was holding direct flames to my skin. It's been off for close to 15 minutes now and my skin is still on fire. DO NOT RECOMMEND at all!!!!!
I hoped this would be something different than rolling on pain product, but it didn't do anything for me - at all. Cost too much for the nothing I got out of it.
