My $80 Waring Pro Waffle Maker died after only 3 years. QVC doesn't sell them anymore (go figure) so I was on the hunt for a new one. I came across this West Bend on Wal-Mart.com and couldn't believe the price & it got alot of GOOD reviews. I have used other West Bend products, including my 1963 Coffee Percolator that I STILL use, so I knew the brand name & that they make great, durable products. Well, this little beauty does make great waffles, they are a nice size with the deep "pockets" for holding syrup & melted butter. Cooked to perfection on the first try. I have to admit, my handle also stuck on my 2nd waffle, in the upright (storage) position, so I had to unplug it since I still had a waffle in there, but I called West Bend on Monday afternoon, she told me what to do & Wa-La! I got it to turn all the way it's supposed to & retreived my waffle (which I threw out to the birds). (p.s. you push in on the handle to dis-engage it from the "pin" and turn at the same time.) This is of no inconvenience to me for the $25 price. I am keeping it. And I do love it! I would not recommend this as a gift, knowing it's flaws. And I do wish it had a "ding" when the waffle was ready, but you just need to keep on eye on it for the green "ready" light so it doesn't burn. Again for the price, not a big deal. The clean up & non stick is a breeze, I didn't even have to spray the grids with a non-stick spray like my dead Waring-Pro. Waffle popped out easily.
Hi It's a great product for the price. Since we had it, I have been making waffles every two days or so. You can control how dark or light your waffle is gonna be. Buy it and you won't be sorry with the result. Only thing is that we shipped it to site to store and you have to wait till 10 am to pick it up. Personly not a favorite of mine but you'll save money. We're loving it and will keep on enjoing it
We were a little skeptical because of the low price, but we've used it several weeks now and it makes perfect waffles quickly and consistently. The removable drip tray is great for clean up. This works as well as some very expensive machines we've used. We're very satisfied.
Stop looking for another Waffle Maker, because this one is PERFECT ! It's incredible, just like the hotels ones. Make perfect waffles, and it's so fast. .... and the price .... wow !!! It was hard to believe for the price, but it's PERFECT !!! I am buying another one as a present for my father
I was looking for a mid-range priced rotary waffle maker and came across the West Bend Rotary Waffle Maker. I used it for the first time today and LOVE-LOVE-LOVE it! It is very easy to use, the waffles came out great and clean up was a breeze. I would recommend this product!!
Love this and what a steal. It is simple to clean and all you have to do is pour in 3/4 of batter and flip it over, the light tells you when it is done and it is perfect! Just like at the hotels.
I bought this about a month ago & it has been an awesome purchase for us! Being a military family, we live on a budget & trying to buy frozen waffles to supply a family of 4 soon to be 5 gets expensive. Always looking for ways to save money I decided to buy this & start making homemade waffles instead of buying the frozen ones. The product itself works great & seems to be pretty sturdy. It's quick & easy just like the ones in the hotels! I pour about 3/4 cup of mix in & 3min later it's done! I can also make waffles ahead & freeze them to stick in the toaster oven before work or school! Easy storage & cleanup too! For the money this is a GREAT value! LOVE IT!!!
I have made several batches of waffles now for my three year old daughter. She is absolutely in love with them. I was never a waffle lover but I can't even begin to tell you how these come out with this waffle maker. Highly recommend this waffle maker to anyone who wants to make great waffles.
The WestBend waffle iron makes great waffles. They do not stick once it is "seasoned" and the waffles came out just the right fluffiness and were about 2/3" thick.
This waffle make is very easy to use, the waffles are light and fluffy, about 1" thick and easy to remove from the grids. I did find the cleaning of the grids somewhat challenging. Although the waffles were easy to remove, the crumbs left behind are not easy to clean off the grids. The grids are not removable, so I dusted the crumbs away with a bottle brush.
