GREAT BOOK FOR KIDS, ECONOMICAL
This book is a biography about Jackie Robinson and his journey to become a professional baseball player. Not only did Jackie play baseball, but he was also very good at football and basketball. Jackie Robinson was the black man to make it to the major leagues.
I teach 3 year olds so this book doesnt really work for me but nonetheless, its a great book for older children
Summary: This book is an inspiring sports biography of Jackie Robinson, who was not only a natural at football, basketball, and baseball, but was also the first black player to break the color barrier in major league baseball. Personal Reaction: I thought this book was very interesting. I learned a lot about baseball and how important it was for Jackie to break the barrier into it. Classroom Extension: After reading this book I would have the kids find a famous African American athlete and write a report about them.
