Not only do I love this pan, but my grandchildren love the end products as well! I bought extra inserts ahead of time, which made it so much easier, and I used a large syringe to fill the compartments! (I'm a nurse!) A little time consuming, compared to regular cupcakes, but definitely worth the effort! Plan to use this pan quite often!
I love this pan set. I especially enjoy the looks of surprise when people bite into the cupcake. At first I noticed that the better from the inner section did leak into the outer section. However once I started to use disposable bags to fill I would just put a little in the inner section and a little in the outer section. Then I would go back and finish filling in and the batter stayed put!
I had been waiting for this pan for years now. This makes perfect gender reveal cupcakes as well as a fun treat idea. The possibilities are endless with these.

This is a great product. The only thing I wish was different was better directions. I wasn't sure exactly how much batter to put in each cavity. The first time I used it, I put too much batter in the center and it baked out all over. Once I figured out the amount of batter, they turned out awesome.
I loved it. The two flavors were a big hit at my daughter's birthday party. The pan is easy to use and easy to clean after I was done. Even though it only has one insert, it didn't take that much longer and the outcome was worth it.
Haven't used the insert yet but love the idea of it - would be useful to have a similar insert to fit a 12 hole cupcake tin especially when making a lot of cupcakes.
Was all set to buy this until I saw you only get one insert so you have to clean it in between rows, what a pain! I love the idea, just thought there would be an easier way to get this effect.
I had been looking forward to making this style of cupcake, but held off because I didn't need to buy more cupcake pans and based on these reviews the insert wasn't available separately. Lo and behold a few days ago I was at Meijer and they had just the insert, so I bought the last one they had. When attempting to spoon the batter in the inner part it was too hard to spoon it in without getting batter down the sides. I was making a two-color stack so this wasn't working. I then tried to spoon batter around the outside section and it was hard to do. The directions on the back show a scoop/spoon for filling, but I would highly recommend not bothering with a spoon and use your decorator bags. Perhaps my batter was a bit thick this time, but it wasn't working for me at all. I abandoned the insert altogether because I didn't have time to find my decorating bags and just went ahead and marbled my batter together instead. In the future, I'll buy (3) more inserts and only use my decorator bags to fill. I would also like to have seen a guideline on the back of how much batter to set aside to color for single/double/triple-colored centers. Perhaps in future packaging it will. This experience was frustrating, thus 3-stars but I hope that using decorator bags in the future will be a better experience.
I am very disappointed with this product. The cake batter leaked into the other sections because the insert was not level. I bought both this and the checkerboard set and I am sad to say I am highly disappointed with both. I have been a long time fan of Wilton products but my latest purchases have me doubting their quality.
