One of the biggest critical hits of the 1987-88 TV season was this gritty, no-holds-barred police drama from Stephen J. Cannell, which ran on CBS. Though it lasted only 3 1/2 seasons (cancelled midway through Season Four, in the winter of 1990), and endured innumerable timeslot changes, it became an instant cult favorite, made superstars out of many of its supporting actors, including Stanley Tucci and Kevin Spacey (as the psychotic Mel Profitt), and offered career-defining performances from veterans such as Jerry Lewis and Maximilian Schell. The program starred Ken Wahl as Vinnie Terranova, an undercover operative for the Organized Crime Bureau, who put his life on the line by infiltrating one deadly criminal syndicate after another. Because of the nature of the story, the program witnessed constant turnover in the supporting cast - criminals would turn up for an arc and get busted by Terranova, before he quickly moved on to another assignment. This Collector's Edition features 68 of the original 75 episodes, spanning Seasons 1-4, plus three episodes from the final season that weren't aired before the network cancelled the program.
