I'm so glad I tried this chili! It's a little spicy, very savory and NOT sweet. If you can't make homemade the Wolf brand is an excellent alternative. There's a good balance of beans to meat. The meat pieces are a nice size (not tiny and hard to find.) The sauce is flavorful with just the right amount of kick. It's not sweet like Hormel. Wolf is a very good canned chili.
thank you Walmart plus I'm well satisfied and happy customer. you are my number one shopping store..
one of these cans were dented. i want it replaced
I was looking forward to trying this chili but was extremely disappointed. The chili was like soupy sludge - as I spooned it out of the can, no meat or even beans were visible! To be honest it looked gross, like overcooked chili put through the blender. I was really hungry %26 tired, so tried it anyway. Taste was so-so, but texture was truly terrible. Had to dump most of it. I seldom leave a negative review, but it's pretty hard to screw up canned chili w/beans this badly. Wish Walmart carried Castleberry's Chili!
Dented can
Didn't like taste or texture
Where's the beef? That's what you'll be asking after eating this chowder like chili that eats more like a soup. It has a very smooth appearance due to the lack of substance. The flavor is one dimensional, and more akin to dog food. The worst canned chili I've ever tasted!
Again, IF I COULD GIVE THIS ZERO STARS, I WOULD. This is basically low grade dog food with less meat and a handful of beans in it. So I ordered four cans of Wolf Brand Chili with my online order; 2 with and 2 without beans. They were much the same, which is to say HORRIBLE. This 'chili with beans' barely had any meat OR beans in it. It was basically just a spicy sauce with the bare minimum to qualify as 'being chili' or 'having beans' in it to allow it to be sold with those words on the can. The spice is sharp, but not flavorful or good; just that generic 'spicy' taste you can get by adding too much pepper or any other spicy thing to something. And they don't add actual spices. I saw not a single hint of a spice in this goopy mess. DO NOT BUY THIS, YOU WILL REGRET IT. Consider yourselves warned. Walmart.... PLEASE drop this brand, it's disgusting. And please at least test the foods you sell in your stores before putting something like this on a shelf for money.
the can was damaged
I purchased several varieties of canned chili to compare and find what I liked best. I will not purchase this brand again. It was like a thick chili tomato paste with few beans %26 completely lacking meat. Yuk. Do not recommend
