I am a teacher and after going through a lot of electric pencil sharpeners rather quickly I decided to buy this one. So far it is performing well - gives a nice sharp point on the pencils without much effort. My only criticism is that it was a little tricky for me to install. In order to get the screws to go in I had to remove the handle. Not very difficult but still you would think they could design it to make for an easier installation. All in all I'm very satisfied and think it will outlast the electric sharpeners.
This pencil sharpener is one of the best ever made. It will adjust from very small drawing detail pencils all the way up to very large construction pencils. It always provides a crisp clean point. The shavings container is also large enough that it doesn't have to be emptied very often.
works great!! I waste lots of money on pencil sharpeners, because i have kids. works good and batteries are not needed. also tried electric they dont pull and takes forever to get pencil sharpened. this one can sharpen dozens of pencils in just minutes!!! last for a very long time!!!
One for the House. One for the Shop, to sharpen those carpenter's pencils. I was tired of trying to sharpen with a knife.
I had no idea that these pencil sharpeners were not the the norm anymore. Everyone is using a electrical one or those really cheap hand held ones at my sons school, and at home. I bought this as I was sick of all the broken pencils the handheld ones creates, and to be honest I have not been disappointed. This is just like the ones I would use in grade school over 30 years ago. I recommend this to anyone that wants a great pencil sharpener for around $10. The install was easy, I mounted the sharpener in my garage so the pencil shavings would not get in the house. I have a 9 and 6 years olds and both can use it with ease. Love it!
I was looking for the old style pencil sharpener that attached to the wall or like it was in our old classrooms where they were attached to the side of the chalkboard and you had to walk up to the front of the class to sharpen your pencil. I am overly excited about this pencil sharpener in the fact that it reminds me of the good old days and it works great!

This sharpens better than any electric I've used...three different electrics to be exact. The only snafu is fastening this baby to either a wall or flat piece of wood. I'm currently working on 800 Dixon-Ticonderoga pencils for our local elementary school, and I taped it to our dining room table to use, after fastening it to a flat piece of wood. I'll take these old relics over electrics any day of the week!

When i was younger, this was the sharpener the schools used. Pencil in. Sharpened. Every time. This one sharpens but there is a side of the lead that still has wood all the way to the tip. I have turned it several times. Still the same. Wishing i had bought another battery powered sharpener.
