The Wr reed electric piano emulation greatly achieves the destinctive characteristics from the soft, delicate tone when lightly played to the thicker, more-distorted tone when played harder. Included also are a 11 variations of the era-popular Clavinets. To further enhance those sounds, the Yamaha CP4 features 62 Virtual Modeling Effects including Reverb, Chorus, Master 5 Band EQ, and Compressor. Intuitive Panel Design Yamaha has fully considered the need for quick access and ease of operation in a live setting when designing the CP4 Stage. The instrument voices are organized by category with a dedicated button for each instrument type. You can use the scroll dial or plus and minus buttons to audition the instruments within each category. Layering is instantaneous with the touch of a dedicated button and Yamaha provides dedicated volume sliders for both parts to get the perfect balance. To choose a main instrument simply push the left cursor arrow then the category button and scroll to the one you like. Then use the right cursor arrow to select the 2nd part and press the second category button you wish to layer. There is also a dedicated split button that works much like the layer function. Simply press the split button, use the up and down cursor to select right or left side part, then press the instrument category button and scroll to the one you like. It's that easy! There is also a dedicated transpose button that allows you to shift the pitch upward or downward by 12 semitones. The CP4 also offeres a 5 band graphic EQ with Low, Low-Mid, Mid, High-Mid, and High sliders for quick frequency boosts or cuts.
