I bought this keyboard about a month ago. I re-homed my piano a few years ago because the arthritis in my hands kept me from being able to play, and space had become a problem. The trouble was that I missed being able to play. I required a longer keyboard that the smaller, cheaper ones, and I also wanted touch sensitive keys to control volume in piano mode. I got both plus so much more. I love the ability to learn one hand at a time while the piano plays the other hand. It waits for me to struggle through the harder passages and grades me (quite gently, I might add) when I finish a song. You have to print out the music from the CD that is provided -- they don't give you a book. There are 20 real songs or so on the keyboard and another 100 or so on the CD that can be transferred to the keyboard's memory from a computer (but I haven't done that yet. The voices (besides the grand piano) are lots of fun, especially with Christmas songs. I am enjoying being able to sit down and play again. For me this was a terrific buy. I had already done my homework, and I was delighted to find it (packaged with a power supply and stand) at Sams that Saturday. I purchased a bench and pedal separately later from another source, but neither would have been necessary. It is a fabulous price for a quality keyboard. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Wife is so pleased to have this Yamaha organ. So many features it will take her a long time to get acquainted. And she is looking forward to helping the grandkids learn to play. So glad it came to the club for free pickup too. Wasn't there at first and I wonder if they check what someone is interested in and then make it available. Picked up a Yamaha pedal at Walmart at a good price which has added to its versatility.
I had been shopping for a reasonably priced piano as a gift, when I found this full-function, 76-key keyboard that is so compact that it barely leaves a footprint in the room. It is lightweight and can be folded up for storage or transported somewhere else. A stand is included. It has a lot of function for the price and definitely superior to a large, heavy, dust-collecting traditional piano!
We like to go with a group to bring sunshine into homes of elderly people by singing for them. This piano has awesome sound for a small living room and doesn't require that I find a power outlet. One person can carry the piano and another the accessories. You can play it sitting down or standing. Although the keys are not weighted, they have a mechanism that gives you some tactile response. You won't find anything better under $400.
Though this was a very busy time of year, it arrived very quickly and without damage out of the box. The only item to put together is the stand, which arrived without the four bolts required. Our local Sams Club helped us solve the problem with an exchange of stands. Thanks you Sams Club. I am enjoying this keyboard and learning to play differently than on a regular piano.
My wife did her homework when choosing a keyboard for us. She wanted to be absolutely sure the musical instrument is perfect for us to begin our musical careers. We're looking forward to be able to "hand me down" this keyboard to our future grandchildren when the time is right. It'll be the perfect start for anyone wanting to learn music. Love the different sounds available .Extremely lightweight. Never thought music could be so easy to make. Thank You Yamaha!!
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! I bought this keyboard as a retirement present to myself to pursue a lifelong dream of learning to play the piano. The features this keyboard offers, including a variety of various instrument sounds and rhythm options, are wonderful for the price. The only thing I am not all that impressed is is the how the "choir" voice sounds. It's kind of tinny and robotic. Still considering the overall performance, this is a great model. I can play a little by ear, and it amazes me how good this makes me sound already. I also bought a sustain pedal, which easily plugs into the back of the keyboard and adds depth to some of the musical pieces.
So this is definitely a fun, entry level keyboard that does everything it is purported to do. It is a great bargain as most places you pay more for it and you do not get the stand and charger... you generally have to pay extra for those. This is not a top of the line weighted key piano feel, but for what it is, it is a good deal.
I purchased this keyboard for my Granddaughter as a Christmas present and she loves it. It's really to early to tell if it will hold up to an 8 year old but it seems to be doing fine now. I used the click and pull set up at my local Sam's club and that worked fine. I bought the item on line and picked it up the next day at the club.
This keyboard has a wide variety of sounds. The speakers produce a decent sound, although you may want an amp. The keys feel very similar to keys on an actual piano. The stand that comes with the keyboard is not very sturdy, and doesn't actually attach to the keyboard.
