purchased this mower back in 2007 from our local walmart, going on our 3rd season, starts right up, cuts great, easy to push for me (a female) gets in all the tight spots, just goes to show with proper care and storage, it's a great mower. Only down side I can think of, I didn't get the one with the rear bagger LOL, the biggest upside, the mulcher makes short work of all the fall leaves yay! No more raking!

This mower does everything is says that it does. Even the EZ Start function has yet to fail me. The self propelled is easy to use and control as well as the operation of the whole mower. I have bought much more expensive lawn mowers in the past, and this one is just as good if not better than all the rest. I highly recommend this mower to anyone.

Great Mower

I purchased this mower because I needed a self propelled mower to be able to mow my entire lawn myself. I have been very impressed with this one. I live in Iowa where we have some pretty harsh seasons and this mower has lasted me over two years so far. I have had two other mowers die within one year. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish Walmart would stock parts for it besides just blades.

all small engines are good to have, people just cvomplaine about small stuff. Parts doint last forever, that is whay walmart sells (PARTS) for them, so igf it breaks, then go get another one, i have had several people bring walmart mowers to me that they say broke down, they caint get it going agian, i fix it up and then they ask for it back, i might see them every 2 months. then they tell me oh, it runs good how did you fix it. Take care of it. I think it is a real good lawn mower, cheap on parts and runs good. Of course it is easy for me becouse i am a ace at small engines. just about any engine, i could repaire. And alol i buy is the cheap ones.

I have mixed feelings about this product

Have you ever made a purchase where you wondered if it was going to hold up or not? That is how I feel about this mower. I have barely had mine for a month, and I am really wondering if I should have invested in a higher quality product. I've had good luck with MTD products, but the other reviews sure leave me uneasy. Let's look at my pros/cons... Pros - lightweight and easy to handle for a 22" mower. I often don't even use the self propelled drive. The new generation China made engine runs smooth and quiet (note older versions of this model may have a different engine). Cons - Often hard to start. I'm a big guy, and I have to pull the cord 2+ times VERY HARD to start it. If my elderly mother were to use it - she could not start it. Overall iffy construction - I have a "gut feeling" this one isn't going to last. Overall, I am seriously considering returning and upgrading while I can.

mower was produced in 2007, a knob for holding the handle on is missing. the mower was supposedly shipped with no oil in the engine but there is oil all over the inside of the box and the mower deck. Have not used it yet because the handle is loose and have been trying to contact MTD customer service to see how I can obtain a knob. As long as it took to get it they must have pushed it all the way from Bentonville Ar to Austin Tx

I got mine on sale for about $130. It does an OK job, but by all means, **DO NOT** put this mower in any situation that may cause the engine to die (such as mow grass that's very high). Once the motor stops, it will *NOT* start again for AT LEAST another 15-20 minutes, maybe longer. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating.

Bought this upgrade mower thinking that it would be reliable, but after only 2 seasons it completely broke down! ( 2 seasons where I live is only about 6 months!) Didn't last any longer than any of the cheaper models we've purchased. Would not recommend!

Not Very Good

Bought this product May 12, its now June 1. I have mowed with this mower twice. While backing the mower up the flap at the back of the mower that protects you from debris was flipped into the blade, it could have been designed better. Now the blade is not in good shape because of that incident the metal on the deck rubs the blade. Today the Self propelled part of the mower quit working. I would expect this after a long term use but not in less than a month. Taking it back to store tomorrow, also, you must drain the gas and oil before returning. I will write another review after I deal with walmart tomorrow. Thank you
