Good quality, nice wood, nice heavy chair. Fits my soon-to-be-8-yr-old daughter like a glove. Only negative is that the desk pulls don't tighten that well.
This set came packaged well and everything seemed to be intact (...no dings in wood, etc.). The wood and finish seemed of fairly good quality for such an inexpensive set. Unfortunately, the finish didn't match the cherry finish of the other furniture we had planned to place it with. They were close, but the finish on this was slightly lighter and a little more orange-ish.
I really like the desk, but it came damaged (which can be understood). The reordered for the broken parts was easy, but took over a week to get. Also, the legs of the desk were a completely different color than the desk.
I didn't want to pay $229.00 for this set because it seemed expensive to me. So I waited and checked each day until it went on sale for $149.00 and then I purchased it (selected Site-to-Store for free delivery and picked it up). Desk - It is a very sturdy desk which I needed for my young stepson. It is made from real wood not plywood (which is hard to find anymore) and matched very well with the ZZZ (Your Zone) Bunk Beds I previously purchased for his room. I like the hole in the back of hutch for computer wires (keeps things neat). The drawers are not so great....the 2 side drawers are really, really small. My stepson can only fit a handful of pens/pencils inside them. The middle drawer isn't very deep either but wider and longer so its not as bad. Chair - made from real wood and extremely sturdy. Big enough to keep for my stepson well into his teenage years. I think this desk / chair set is surprisingly nice (at the $149.00 price) considering what's out there.
NOT the same color as shown. The picture shows this desk as a dark chocolate color, it is way lighter than I expected. It's a light toffee color. I will be returning it as it does not match any of the existing furniture. Quality wasn't as bad as I expected though.

purchased the set, it came scratched and the drawer was broken, so i returned it and ordered it again...the second desk had a broken drawer also. i returned that as well and purchased a desk set from a different store.
I ordered this to have as a small computer desk in our living area. At first I did not know it came with the chair so it was a bonus when it did. However, I had to wait about 2 weeks for it to come to the store which seemed like a long time. When we went to put it together, the drawer was busted already. Now I had to lug it back to the store, lug it into the store, and return it. Not satisfied at all!
