Where to start? I bought this from HH and I had an issue with the radio out of the box. Yuneec fixed the radio in less than a week and had it in the air in no time. The flight is so smooth and easy and the video is great. If you have any questions they pick up the phone instantly. The longest I've waited was 5 minutes. They are making new add one for new features and all issues have been fixed in the new updates, plus added new photo modes. This is the one
I have been getting into aerial filming and I wanted a better filming platform than I had previously. I bought this about two months ago in order to fulfill this need. When it arrived, I opened the box all excited. My first impressions were fantastic. I have never seen a drone that was so well packaged. I spent a bit of time calibrating it and downloading the latest firmware. After this was completed, I took it into our back yard to fly. First flight: It went well. I took it up and flew it for 15 minutes or so. The only thing that I found wrong with it was that the handling was very bad. It felt like I had to force it to do things, and when I did it jerked ruining my video shots. It also drifted around quite a bit in a hover compared with DJI. It lacked the fluid motion and slow flight performance of the DJI line. Second flight: This is where things get bad. I somehow got the throttle mixed to the rudder. I am still not exactly sure how I accomplished this feat, but I did. Because of this, I got about 20 feet into the air and leaned on the rudder. Naturally it shot straight up because of the mix. I was puzzled by this, so I turned the other way. Instantly all the motors started spooling down as I applied more and more rudder. Finally all of the motors stopped and it fell straight into our plowed field. This crash ruined both landing gear servos, and broke about 4 out of the 6 arms. It also shattered the gimbal. I discovered in this crash that the gimbal is largely made of plastic and not of metal. This means that one crash and it is toast. I also discovered that while this platform has carbon fiber in the arms, a good portion of the rest of this platform is nothing but plastic. This means that instead of being strong and durable, it is actually very weak and flimsy. I felt quite hot because to my understanding the motors are not supposed to stop all the way at any given time during a flight. I called up Yuneec and the only thing that I could tell from them was that I was at fault. They claimed that it was pilot error. At this point, my brother decided to trade me his DJI Phantom 3 Professional for my crashed Yuneec Typhoon H. Long story short, my brother fixed both landing gear and fixed four of the arms. He then sold it on eBay without a gimbal. That is the last time that I will ever buy a Yuneec flying platform not because of what happened, but because this company does not care about their customers. They only care about money. Overall this review is meant to warn others of what might happen if you buy it. I really disliked the fact that Yuneec charged me with pilot error over this for letting my drone crash. I was not aware that there were certain circumstances that shut down the motors entirely. If I had know that, I would have been a lot more gentle than I was. I also really disliked the flying capabilities of this particular aircraft. It feels like you actually have to beat it into submission in the air rather than guide it gracefully through the air. Since then I have purchased a DJI Phantom 4. It is a night and day difference. The P4 is mellow in the air, is rock solid (doesn't drift), and has crystal clear video. I just got done flying in 20mph sustained wind with it, and I could not even tell a difference looking at the footage. I would highly recommend the DJI Phantom 4 above this!
