Tired of buying the micro rice
Best rice in my opinion. Lite and fluffy every time if you follow microwave instruction. This is the only rice I buy.
Zatarains is the only rice I will use. Stays separate, never sticky. Always cooks to perfection. Add some salt and butter, and it is even good to eat by itself. I never use a rice cooker. Just follow the directions on the package. Can't go wrong with Zatarains rice. Perfect with your gumbo, etouffe, shrimp creole, etc.
20 minutes in the microwave in a home-made rice rinser-cooker (a Chinese take-out 1 quart soup container with a dozen holes punched into the lid), 5 minutes on full, 10 minutes on 50%, 5 minutes on 0 power, and about 1½ pounds of perfectly-cooked rice. Couldn't ask for better. (Tastes great too - and no sticky starch.)
I took a trip to Monroe, Louisiana and asked if they had any Uncle Ben's rice. The waiter said no but we do have Zatarain's and it is as good if not better. I whispered in his ear that I did not and could not eat gummy rice and if his Zatarain's was gummy please do not bring it out . You talking about some good rice and I had my Gumbo on the side, as Andy Griffin used to say " them some good eats". The texture , the smell the look and best of all the taste was fantastic. Since then I am Zatarain's all the way. I get the Zatarain's line of products now. I still get Uncle Ben's occasionally . It is a good price for a better product 2 lbs. for $2.72 Get some you will thank me!
i grew up in Louisiana so this brand is my fave BUT the rice cooks so well and never clumps!!! that is the best part to us!
I've been a faithful fan of Zatarain's products and this is by far my favorite!
I am a Southern girl, raised in South Texas, near the Louisiana border. I have eaten rice all of my life. I can honestly say this Zatarain's White Rice is the best I have ever tasted! I bought it once to try it and I'm back again to buy more. It cooks up so well, evenly and does not clump or get mushy. Each individual grain of rice is cooked and actually plumps up a bit, but remains firm. The rice stays separated and fluffy. I just can't believe I had never tried this rice before now. It is excellent!
This is the only rice I will use. The grains are plump and doesn't stick. ...comes out beautiful if that makes sense
