This is my first Bell helmet. It is by far the best helmet I've ever worn. I have seen these selling for more than $100 so the value here is just awesome. Great helmet, great price, no brainer. Maybe in the future more colors huh?
I ordered this for my 18 yr old grandson while on the phone with him. He was delighted when he received it, and said it was perfect. So, I give it a thumbs up.
My husband had been wearing a small open face helmet (AKA skid lid) but was looking for a full-face helmet. He liked this helmet - said it kept his face and head warm, and kept his eyes from watering when he was riding. it also came in black which was what he was looking for. It was a great Christmas gift as far as he's concerned.
There are better helmets on the market so I didn't give five stars overall, but you can't expect top of the line for this low price. The Zephyr a great value however, because it's comfortable and fairly quiet, and it looks good. The shield mechanism operates well and most importantly it protects my head from insects, rain and asphalt. Ventilation is good and I like the breath deflector that helps to keep the shield from fogging in cold weather. In short, I'm glad I bought it. In my case I had to pick an X-Large size, it seems they're sized smaller than other brands. I usually wear a Large. Cons: (1)The ear padding was not designed for eyeglasses, it's somewhat difficult to slide them on compared to my HJC helmet. (2)The D-rings are so near the helmet body that it's tough to secure it to the helmet lock on my motorcycle. I'll have to figure a way around this. Both of these are minor annoyances but worth mentioning.
We bought this for my husband to enter mud runs. It works great. Even with the priority shipping fee added in it was still cheaper then others we had looked at.
This helmet was great. I bought it and one of the Bandito helmets. I only intended to have the helmet to hold me over until I got a "better" one, but the helmet was great. There was a small problem with the shield mechanism when I was changing it out everyday, but well worth the money. The shield for the Zephyr also worked on my Zox modular, so that was pretty cool!
