Haven't started my project yet but, from what I've learned from all the searches and conversations, this product should be the best. Well constructed and exactly as I wanted. Thanks

This tool perforates the surface of waterproof wallpaper so water or other liquid can get to the glue to soften it. It does not damage the wall under the wallpaper with most wallpaper. It might if yours is thin. A few people may be interested to know it is made in New Zealand.

The object of the project is slow and steady....it's not completely magic....lol, especially if trying to remove OLD wall paper, that may have been "pasted" in place, rather than the old "get wet and lay down" type.....having a bear of a time removing our old wallpaper from our 1983 home, which I've found has two, if not three layers of wallpaper haha....slow and steady, and do not press too hard, or you will leave marks in the "wallboard" or drywall......easy fix if so, just touch up with some joint compound before painting, but still.....lol.

My husband and I are in the process of restoring an old house built in 1910. I bought the PaperTiger to help remove the 5+ layers of wallpaper in one of the bedrooms. It's not a perfect tool, but it works well enough. Some complaints: The little spiky wheels rotate around a center point. This is fine when working on a large area, but it makes working along edges and inner corners a bit tricky sometimes. It would be better if they were stationary. The spikes are a bit small for my needs. When I press down hard, it will score the first four layers of paper without any problems. But, I usually have to make a second pass to get completely through the bottom layer. Because the spikes are so small and close together, they easily get gunked up with paper, especially since I am also using a liquid paper stripper. So, after about every other pass, I have to stop and clean out the wheels. It can get a little annoying after awhile. Some things to keep in mind: This product is not meant to be used alone. This tool puts small holes in the wallpaper in order to make absorption of liquid wallpaper stripper faster and more effective. You still need to use a scraper to remove the paper. (See Related Products.) If you press down too hard while using it, it WILL leave marks in your wall. I will be patching and texturing the plaster after I finish removing the paper anyway, so this isn't a problem in my situation. But, if you're not planning on doing any plaster work as part of your project, you need to be careful if you will be using this tool.

Very satisfied with this product. Worked well removing old wallpaper on a room measuring 11x23'. Need to follow directions, use light pressure. Had read reviews how this gadget fell apart easily, actually bought another to have in case this happened. Happy to say, I can return the spare!

easy to damage walls, and really hard on 60 year old woman! skip the scoring and Dif, and just use steam to easily remove wallpaper

I had the exact same experience. Didn't help. Then, once we painted the wall, the little holes eventually started showing through and we ended up having to repaint it! We did a lighter color this time so it wasn't as evident, but yes...it's not good stuff! HOWEVER, maybe I pushed it down too hard or used it incorrectly? (Apparently that is easy to do though, since the previous poster said the same thing!)

After reading all of the great reviews on this product I was looking forward to using it to remove some wallpaper. Maybe I wasn't using it right, but I found I was better off without it. It just made little holes in the wallpaper, but did not make the removal any easier. It also left little holes in my wallboard once I did get the paper off. Very disappointed.
