Black & Decker CM1836 18'' 36V Cordless Mower

This B&W CM1836 mower has proven to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. I bought it in 2012 and its battery is just now (May 2022) to the point that it needs to be replaced. Up until just a couple weeks ago, this mower had plenty of charge to mow both the front and back yards with plenty of charge left over. It's never let me down. An added bonus is how easy it is to clean and maintain. I turn it upside down and hose it off. Can't do that with a gasoline powered lawn mower. Maintaining it comes down to simply remembering to plug it in after I'm done mowing. That's it! The mower itself is very rugged and has handled all the abuse I've dished out to it over the past ten years. Nothing has broken. And I definitely don't baby it. If anything, I work it to death. Except it never dies! But now I finally need a new battery. Okay. Fair enough. It should serve me well for another ten years.

I purchased this mower 3 year ago, the first time I used it I knew I had made a mistake and that regret has only grown. Now the charger is dead and noone inlcuding Black and Decker sell it. Terrible job on this product, I'd even say I feel ripped off.

Since I have only had a chance to use this mower one time I really can't say how well it will perform down the road. It was easy to assemble and charged up in a couple of hours. It seems a bit louder than our previous mower, but, this mower has a higher voltage. Time will prove it's worth.

I REALLY LIKE THIS LAWN MOWER NOW I CAN GO OUT AND WORK IN THE YARD ANYTIME I WISH, BEFORE I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE START MY MOWER FOR ME. I HAD AN ELECTRIC CORDED LAWN MOWER BEFORE THIS ONE BUT THIS IS BETTER JUST A LITTLE HEAVIER, LOVE THAT IT HAS A GRASS CATCHER AND MULCH-ER.

This is the worst purchase ever! It's NOT worth the money. I have less than 1/4 of an acre and it takes me 4 days to mow my lawn. It won't hold a charge for more than 1/2 hour then you have to charge the battery for at least 12 hours. If your grass is more than 3 inches high....forget it, not enough power to cut the grass and looses it's charge very quickly. Wet grass....also forget it, you have power for about 10 minutes. With this experience, I will buy a gas mower, much more powerful and I can mow my lawn in 1 day.
