Blendtec - Twister Jar - White

Bought it for my daughter for Christmas. She gave me one and we love it. She's had hers for several years and used it all the time. She wanted the smaller one for convenience.

I frequently make several kinds of Indian flat breads that require blending soaked rice and lentils and blending to a paste which is allowed to ferment and then gets spread out on a griddle to bake into a thin, crispy, flatbread. It's important to blend the mixture as thickly as possible to get it nice and smooth. This is stressful on the usual blender jar. The twister jar handles this task beautifully and I don't have to worry about burning out the motor. It's the little blender that Can.

I purchased a Twister Jar for my wife as a present as she was tired of the extras (sugar, extra salt, oil) in commercial peanut butter. Using Dry Roasted peanuts it makes a great peanut butter. However the cleanup could be much easier off the Twister Jar. I basing my review on the Twister Jar. We are currently on the 3rd Blendtec in our kitchen as the base lasts only about 4 years. Our local Costco noo longer carries Blendtec.

The jar wasn't overloaded and this has never happened to me with the regular jar. I had my hand on the lid as well. The whole contents of the jar exploded inside my kitchen and my green smoothie was all over our almond cabinets, new white tile floors, my face, clothes, stove, fridge sink etc. I'm too scared to use it now. We just had finished doing new our weekly deep cleaning as well. Blendtec please explain why this happened. I've had this blender for six years with the regular jar and this has never happened.

I bought the twister jar about a month ago and have used it to make hummus twice. It does a great job and the results are so much smoother than when using a traditional food processor. The Blendtec motor is very powerful and as you use the twister jar and twist it, you can feel the power. Almost too powerful for the little jar when using the salsa/dips preset button. But I think after a few more uses I'll get more comfortable with it. I also like the size as it is easy to remove your finished product (as opposed to the standard jar which can be oversized when trying to make small portions). I look forward to trying more recipes with the Twister Jar in order to justify its hefty price tag.
