Blue Microphones - Snowball iCE Wired Cardioid USB Plug 'n Play Microphone

For Discord and other audio meetings it's a great little mic. Picks up audio well, and is crisper than most others I have experienced. I have used it streaming on Twitch as well and I would say it is serviceable. If I had a big desire to be a professional, I would upgrade but since I don't, I think the Blue Snowball is good enough to keep using as my streaming mic. It picks up my voice, and while I sound clear and bright, it doesn't have the crisp oomph from more expensive microphones. This is fine for its price tag. Whether streaming or in a meeting, I would say the mic is pretty good! I have a low speaking voice and it is a HUGE step up in clarity. Worth your money if you need a step-up from the crummy microphones attached to cheap headphones or the ones in-built on your computer.

I needed to find a microphone for my Youtube channel that was inexpensive but that would still produce professional quality sound without requiring extra equipment. This microphone is simple to setup, inexpensive and don't require a preamp to set it. It helps to control your sound environment and remove white noise from the background. It also includes four different sounds modes.

So like many in 2020 I'm working from home and the majority of my time is spent on skype calls. Wearing a headset for hours can become uncomfortable and all the extra cords become a nuisance. This is an extremely easy setup. Unpack the box, screw in the stand and plug in the usb. I plugged the usb into my windows 10 pc and it downloaded the drivers and became my default mic without any extra steps or software. So on to the test. Coworkers said it was nice and clear and no background noise, static or feedback! I will note that they did say it wasn't quite as clear and crisp as my headset, so if absolute perfect clarity is needed you may want to stick with the headset, however they all stated it was still easy to hear and understand. I added a picture to give you size perspective next to my 26" monitors.

So far I love this microphone. My daughter is an aspiring YouTuber, so she wanted it hooked up to her laptop right away. The USB cord was easy and convenient to connect. This microphone also comes with it's own tripod, which makes it amazingly easier to use by not having to clip it anywhere. The sound quality is wonderful so far. I would definitely recommend this Blue Snowball microphone to anyone who wants to start making their own content videos with voiceovers.
