GE Profile - 30" Convertible Range Hood - Stainless Steel

Very good exhaust capability, quiet, good lighting, sleek appearance.

It works, but ugly, over-large (extends too far beyond cabinetry, so watch your head). Wish we'd ordered a different unit that took up less space. Since it doesnt vent to outdoors, with our builder, choices were limited.

Our 30 year old gas stove and ductless hood died, and we needed to replace both. We have read a lot about all of the harmful indoor air quality (not to mention environmental) issues that gas stoves have, especially if they are not properly vented to the outside. We recently invested in having the old gas line capped and upgraded to an induction stove with this matching range hood. We are not yet ready to do a complete kitchen reno in our home (which would involve adding a duct to the outside) so investing in high performance range hood that matched our new stove was key. The reviews are correct-- on the "high" setting this model is loud; however, it is actually WORKS (vs giving a performance of working as is often the case with ductless/recirculating range hoods) to remove and filter potentially harmful indoor pollutants without being ducted to the outside. Yes, it is loud on high, but it quickly sucks in the air and removes all kitchen smells in seconds, which is why we bought it. The lights are nice too and certainly an upgrade over what we had. We have tried pairing it (via bluetooth) with our induction stove, and didn't find that was a big enough feature, in and of itself, to warrant the purchase. We've seen it go into "boost mode" twice on its own when a large burst of steam emerged from the oven, which was impressive. We would absolutely buy this again because home air quality is important to us.

Love this range hood. Is much cleaner than our previous unit. Only complaint is the manufacturing sequence of bending the sheet metal causes dimples at each end on the front. Other than that good quality.

Had to have two units installed. First worked but made a noise like parts were hitting as fan rotated. Not the GE where quality was a given not something requiring support right out of the box. Requiring a second unit put project completion back a full week. Limited purchase reasons - Should allow a written input.
