This is my second seahawk, the first was the seahawk 4, which was super tuff and durable. This one is the seahawk 2, same great quality but smaller. I wanted a smaller, lighter rig that I could row insted of lugging a motor battery ect. Fitted it with a carpeted plywood floor and a highback seat about 8" above the floor,.comfortable, stable, and perfect for one person. I am well pleased.
We bought this for our week-long family reunion, down in a canyon. Our 3 grand-kids used it to float around a dammed-up section of the creek. The kids were between 4 and 6 years old, and fit in the boat fine. They loved it. We had temperatures over 90 every day, and the kids spent hours in the water and the boat, under the watchful eyes of their parents. The creek and the boat were the hit of the entire reunion. For the price, it would be hard to find a sturdier, handier boat. It was used roughly, up and over rocks, and there were no leaks. After inflating it, it stretched a bit...to be expected. Next morning we added some air, and it stayed fully inflated for the rest of the week. It might be a bit on the small side for two large adults, both fishing. If only one were fishing, it should be fine. I'd buy the boat again.
The boat is thick vinyl so will not puncture easily. The Boston plugs are nice the other works the best. It came with pump and oars.
Was looking for a boat to get me on the water for bass fishing, so I decided to try this out. I built a plywood bottom for this boat for balance (I can stand up in it, but I don't recommend it). I intended to use it only for lakes and reservoirs but I've had it out on the creek and it has yet to get a hole after a few trips. However, the oars are little short and the boat is directionally challenged. A rudder for it would make a huge difference. I don't expect it to hold up in the long run but for $50 it's done a decent job so far. I think I got my moneys worth.
Great product. It does the job. The boat does hold 2 people, but I would recommend 2 small people or at an average of around 5 ft. 10 in. max height or else there would not be any room to move around. But for 1 person to ride in would be perfect. Lots of room for fishing gears and to lay inside. I did not use the paddles that came with them because I had paddles of my own already. The paddles that came with the set is not bad, it is fairly sturdy and can handle some labor to them. I would recommend this product to a friend. But as a "inflatable boat" it does have its limit to what you can do with it, such as slipping it top of rocks would not be a good idea.
