I had this computer less than 2 months. I don't know if it overheated as it was on my bed and the led screen went out. I tried to get it replaced and they wouldn't cover it under warranty. Wouldn't by another Lenovo. Inferior products by a Dell or something else
Just received this computer two days late from its intended delivery date and I will be returning it same day. The actually device is beautiful and sleek but that's where the pros end. Half of the apps on the computer don't even work. I use my laptop primarily for work which includes keeping track of a lot of different schedules. I went to sync all of my calendars to the available calendar and it wouldn't work despite getting notifications each time I tried to set it up on my Google account that the laptop had access to all of my account features. I tried to get other calendar apps from the Microsoft shop and none of those worked either. Lenovo help was absolutely no assistance.
Cheap laptops are getting crazy these days. This thing is wicked fast. The SSD makes booting super quick and the 12 thread Ryzen 5 is crazy. It even has a backlit, full-size keyboard that is very nice to type on (typing on it right now). The ONLY drawback is the screen. God is it horrible. Look at it head on and it looks... alright. It's 1080p so everything is decently sharp, but contrast is pretty crap. The moment you look at it off axis, it's either blown out or dark. This is far from enough to ruin this computer, which is why I gave it 4/5, but it easily knocks off a star. Just bear that in mind.
This is a great computer that can easily handle light to moderate day to day usage. It's lightweight, and easy to transport, and it has a very decent battery life. Some of the things I liked are: 1. Speed 2. Light weight 3. Slim design 4. Full keyboard with numerical pad 5. Supports Bluetooth connection 6. Able to run Premiere or Vegas Pro 7. Stays cool 8. Price point Some of things I didn't like are: 1. Not enough ram for Solidworks modeling 2. Cheaper build quality 3. Limited screen viewing angles 4. No WiFi 6 capabilities In conclusion, this is a very good laptop for the price. Good enough for the typical non-engineering student, light work, typical everyday usage. If you require something that runs a lot of memory or storage like movie production, heavy gaming, heavy calculations, this laptop may not be for you.
This laptop exceeds my expectations for a budget laptop. The Ryzen 5500U is fast and the laptop fan is very quiet. I use the laptop for streaming in OBS and it handles multiple inputs easily. The 128Gb storage is limiting, along with the 8Gb ram. The display is budget quality and is not good in brightly lit areas. It does have an HDMI port, so I have the ability to use an external display if needed. For what I use it for, I would not hesitate to buy it again at the $500 price point. Just be aware of the display quality.
