Safety 1st Dual Smart Outlet, White, Toddler

If you're looking for a low cost, but effective smart outlet, then this will work for you. It doesn't have the fanciest features, but those would come at a higher price. It's fairly simple to turn off one outlet at a time and has a timer feature. It has some issues but once you figure them out, it's a pretty decent setup.

I would like to start this review by disclosing that this is the 5th type of smart plug that I have had the pleasure of using in hopes of finding the perfect plug. This one isn't there yet but it is so close! The Safety 1st plug is a dual outlet smartplug linked up to the Safety First app. The app setup was easy, registration process was as respected smooth and easy to follow. within 2 minutes I was able to add the plug to the app, and configure the outlets. For my particular case I have the plug connected to my Nursery Light and the sound machine. What is unique about this outlet is since there are two plugs, you can turn each plug on and off independently within the app as well as turn them both off simultaneously. This is a feature that ti have been requesting for a long time in multi-outlet plugs. I really with there could be full surge protectors with per-outlet control. this would make my life so simple. Once setup I was able to tie the automation tasks together in Google Home and have it added to the dashboard with the rest of my smart devices. The process was smooth, it connects perfectly with no drops in connection. Overall the device gets 10/10. The software however I have one disappointment with. Since smart things have such a heavy partnership with home automation I was very disappointed to know there isn't any partnership with IFTTT. I would have loved to create an applet that can trigger this device: ie: If Localtime=9:30am then Turn Nursery Light on, Turn Nursery Sound Machine off However as of writing this it is not connected to IFTTT. Otherwise thisis a great device. having two outlets is a game changer in the smart things offering and the ease of use of the app makes it very versatile. I would recommend this to anyone who has many devices per room that they would want to add to their smart home network

First off, you can tell that the plug is made of high quality parts along with a well-developed app. The app makes it extremely easy to control the power supply no matter where you are. It is a great thing to have when you have children. For instance, the other night I wasn't sure if I had turned the wipe warmer off in my daughters nursery and I was unable to go in there to check without waking her up (which if you are the parent of young ones, you know is the last thing you want to do), but instead, I was able to just grab my phone and cut the power to the plug that I had marked as the diaper warmer in the app. It gives you the ability to name each device that is plugged in. The clear plastic protectors that came with it are also the best I have seen! My son is bad for pickinig at them until he gets them out so it is always hard to find one that he can't undo, but this one makes it nearly impossible for him to be able to take out, which I love. The only thing that I could think that would make it even better would be to have a way that you can set automatic timers for them to turn on or off. Overall though, it is a really great product to have in the children's rooms! I have already bought another one for her other outlet in her room. I would definitely recommend!

I use this in my nursery to turn the sound machine and night light on and off. You have to download the app in order to use it, but it is very user friendly. I have no complaints, and I love that you don't have to have a hub in order to use this plug. My only suggestion would be to use it in a spot that is relatively close to your router as it can lose Wi-Fi signal if it is too far.

This product does not compare to anything else I have ever used before. Actually I have never seen an outlet like this before, anything I have ever used was just a straight Outlet Plain Jane Outlet. Some benefits are that it is Wi-Fi and app controlled. I can operate this outlet from my computer and my phone. You can remotely control just about any electrical device. If I accidentally leave something on I can go to the app on my phone and turn it on or off. You do Outlets are individually controlled so that you can run two different electrical devices. In the future I would definitely buy this product and other products like it. I would most definitely recommend it two friends and family with kids. I have already recommended it to my brothers and sisters.
