Weed Eater WE16R Reel Mower

I've got a ranch style home with 3 yards, Front, Back and Side (a/c unit etc.# lots of big trees hang over back #lots of twigs uggh# . I've been using this little machine on all of them since May 2010, haven't sharpened the blades yet and it's still doing a fine job. I can cut all three yards in about an hour, get good exercise and not use a bit of gas or electricity #only gatorade!# !! All it needs is for the blades to be sprayed with a lubricant before starting work each time. Also the blades eventually get out of "line" and need to be adjusted or recalibrated using a hex key and a piece of paper #to be 'cut'# explained on instruction sheet. If a twig gets jammed in the blades and won't break then I just tip the mower onto one wheel and nudge the blade cluster an inch or two with my foot until the twig drops out, then resume cutting. # the unit's been crunching alot of twigs these 2 years!# The only cons are the foam on the handles is wearing out so I'll prolly replace with something like pipe insulation or bicycle handle grips etc. If your grass gets more than about 4 inches high then the mower won't do anything but run over it. For this situation I just use another gas-free device: A sicle or weeding blade that I swing like a golf club #hardward stores# as it cuts tall weeds/grass in both directions! Also since the cutting blades are bookended by the drive wheels, cutting closer than 2" to walls is impossible and you'll need a string trimmer or clippers.

Probably a great mower but I received it with a broken part that holds the roller..I ordered on line since it is difficult for me to get to a store..I paid the shipping charges and now must pay a cab to get me to a store and back since Weed eater customer service cannot help me with a replacement part. I will not purchase another Weed Eater product after this bad experience and long customer service phone conversation. I trust Walmart will refund my purchase but I take nothing for granted anymore.

I LOVE this mower. My husband was deployed and I was in charge of the lawn work for the summer. I struggled 2/3 of the summer with the electric mower, the a gas mower, then I got this! I LOVED it. I had it put together and the lawn mowed in LESS time than it used to take me to mow in general, which was great being a pseudo-single mom! I don't need to be wasting time! For me it is NO MORE EFFORT to use than the other mowers, and I know that it will ALWAYS start. The only it way it WONT go, is if I don't! And it does a GREAT job! I highly HIGHLY recommend this mower!

I have a very small lawn in back of my mobile home, and my patio and neighbor's yard is up against it. The reel mower is perfect! It is easy to use, quiet, and never 'throws' the grass into the air. It took only a few minutes to put together and is light enough to lift over flower beds. I love it!

I'm supposed to get a gas mower but I decided to check on this. It works well! My husband likes it and we are happy with it. Its really convenient to use in our small lawn and doesnt cost us a thing to run. I've read about a review of it being broken the first few rolls, it happend but it's not really broken. You just have to loosen a screw and a tool to do it was included. We just did it once and everything was perfect.
