Tbj Gourmet: Jam Bacon Classic, 9 Oz

This is delicious and savory-sweet, but it has a very strong "natural" bacon taste, which I love, but I can understand why this bacon jam gets so many negative reviews. I grew up on a farm and suspect the bacon in this jam has "boar taint, " which despite the name, is not a bad thing: it just means the meat may come from an adult male pig (boar) that was never castrated. Castration makes the pork meat taste sweeter and less gamey or piggy. Castration is usually done to most male pigs in the USA pork market, but not always. Anyway, I am used to boar taint and like this ham a lot, but the piggy flavor is strong and just a little of this jam goes a long way. It is fabulous in a grilled cheese sandwich!

I ordered this Bacon Jam to use in a recipe for a sweet and savory butter board. This Bacon Jam is TERRIBLE! It simply tastes like week old greasy bacon fat. There is NO savory flavor. There is NO sweet flavor. Just that horrible greasy bacon fat taste. UGH. I am SO thankful I made a small butter board to test this out before bringing to a party. No one in my family liked this - and none of us are picky eaters. I took one small scoop of this Bacon Jam out of the jar, now I'm stuck with an almost $8 jar that I will never use. What a waste. My family and I love trying new things, but this was a terrible experience.

The items in the box were not packaged properly, no bubble wrap. I purchased this for my sister who is disabled. When she went to take the items out of the box, the jars were broken and she cut her hand. UNACCEPTABLE!

this is really good I've used it on cheeseburgers, breakfast sandwiches, well anything you would like bacon on. I did not find it too sweet I really thought it was good until, I was making barbecues and decided to add some of this into it. made a sandwich and bit into something very hard and there was a rock or a large pebble but it could be cut in half I don't know what it is to this day.

my family and I absolutely love it we made bacon burgers and used this in place of mayo and mustard I plan on stocking up and also trying the other products of TBJ Gourmet!
