Like others here, the four illuminated mix settings constantly blink. How can you ruin a machine by having this incessant blinking? Why, why, why?!?! Not only is this the universal indicator that something is very wrong (e.g., motor overheated) it is just terrible distracting. I'm so upset. Now I have to decide if I'm going to add to landfill because of what seems like an idiotic design decision that has nothing to do with the functionality of the machine.
Substitute for my 20-year old Magimix 5100 for which replacement bowls are no longer available. Performs well in all my food preparation tasks (chopping, slicing, grating, cake mixing and bread-making), although not quite as powerful as the Magimix, so some processes take a bit longer, but the end result is just as good, and sometimes better. This machine cost around 75% less than an equivalent new Magimix model, so if I get more than 5 years use out of it, it will prove to be a great buy.
I am super happy with this food processor! It does absolutely everything I would ever want it to do. Everything I've put through it has come out on the other end consistent. No jam ups. Each and every morsel is cut, chopped, or shredded consistent. This processor has made life so much easier for me! Thank you Cuisinart!
The jury is still out on the in-bowl attachment storage. On the pro side, it saves cabinet space by not having a separate storage rack for the slicing and shredding disks. On the con side, it's a bit of a pain to have to remove the two disks and the storage rack and then assemble the metal blade to the spindle, since 90% of the time I use the metal blade. I like that the motor base is lighter weight than my old model so it's easier to lift from cabinet to countertop. Performance seems to be fine. The small pusher is a little hard to get out of the medium pusher.
First I will say I love this new food processor! The ease and help it has provided has been immense. The only reason I am giving it a four star is because unlike years ago when you bought a food processor and were given all kinds of optional cutting, chopping, slicing, dicing blades this give you three options and you have to purchase other blades if you need them. I was disappointed in this.
