It was time for an upgrade to my older processor and when I saw the Elite Collection® 2.0 12 Cup Food Processor, I knew I had found the perfect replacement. It has a strong quiet motor and produces a very fast, evenly chopped result. Having two sizes of bowl is very convenient. I love all my Cuisinart appliances.
I spent quite a long time deciding upon this food processor. I need a model with a powerful motor, great blade and sturdy construction. Features were secondary considerations for me, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the additional small bowl, adjustable feeding tube and both slicing, shredding blades. Based upon my review of reviews - especially the recommendation from America's Test Kitchen - I had settled on the Cuisineart 14-cup unit, but had held up because of the price. I was able to find this 12-cup unit (had been happy with my old 10-cup size, so slightly smaller capacity was not an issue) at a better price; and I also noticed that this this 12-cup unit actually had a 1,000-watt motor while the larger 14-cup unit motor was only 750-watt. There is a lot to consider when selecting a food processor. Frankly, I am wary of the Cuisineart brand across its range of products, so the name alone is not enough for me to choose this product. I invested time, and know that this is the right processor for me. You should do the same.
Brilliant invention having a large & a smaller work bowl, no need to have two completely different processors any longer. The blades are phenomenal & working in conjunction with the 'motor' (as I call it!) will make whatever task you are doing quick & easy. This unit replaced a 19 year old lesser quality processor which was such a chore to use...I really should have bought a Cuisinart 19 years ago!
I am very pleased with my new food processor. It is SOOO quiet! I love that it works so fast and doesn't make a terrible racket. I cannot be happier with the way it grates and slices cheese, nor that it takes just seconds to chop onions or carrots. I have made perfect hash browns as well. It is one of the best investments I have made in my kitchen.
Because of arthritis in my hands, I couldn't open and close my old food processor & chose this one because of the push button lid. I've only used it a few times, but I can open and close it by myself. I do have a little difficulty dialing the thickness on the blade but can do it with the help of a rubber gripper. I didn't realize that it's a bit taller than my previous Cuisinart and am still trying to find a convenient place to store it in my kitchen. It doesn't quite fit under my upper cabinets but all in all I am happy with my purchase. I am not a baker (except for pies dough that I haven't yet made) but I like the convenience of chopping and slicing. For me, the place to wind the cord underneath is worthless because it is too heavy to do it. It would be more helpful on the back or if retractable.
