[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fab fab fab! It took a while to learn the best weay to pan fry, saute or "grill" foods the only thing we found difficult was getting a magnetic Greek or Turkish coffee pot to work, possiboy they are to narrow work. I have asked the Bosch folk what is the "mimimum base diameter" that is requiredand does it differ with each of the 5 hob elements? No one has ever answered with an answer!! They pssed me off with "Look in the manual." I did and the answer is NOT there. Not vey helpful!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second experience with Induction and I remain a big fan over other forms of cooking. So far I only have some minor grievances. My first experience was with a Samsung range and that also had pluses and minuses. The power levels on the Samsung seemed to be higher at the same power number selection but the Bosch levels seem to be more consistent. For example, at the start of cooking I would select a level 5 (default when power on) on the Samsung. With the Bosch I start with a 6.5. On the plus side the Samsung did not have .5 increments. I am not a fan of the touch controls on the Bosch but this seems to be the norm today. If you have any residual food or grease on your finger the control is not going to respond. An example - if you turn on Boost to get things boiling, forget and things start boiling over pressing a lower button doesn't work if the liquid from the boil over is on the buttons. Another complaint is that when cooking I tend to have things spread around. If you put something down on the cooktop it will sound off and in some cases shut down. I have read some of the manual and I am sure it has to do with the auto assistance features but it can be annoying when you just want to set the lid of a pan down for a sec. I chose the Bosch over others because it had highest levels of power over all the burners (?). That's great but the pan size marks are cross hair markings instead of circles as they are on most other brands. It makes it harder to make sure you are using the correct burner for the pan size. On the plus side the pan can be much smaller or larger and they will work. I can now use a super small sauce pan that I could not use on the Samsung. If the pan is larger than the markings then the entire pan might not get heat depending on the pan materials. All the complaints aside I am happy with the cooktop and use it several times a day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Bosch induction cooktop. I have cooked with gas for many, many years and was a little nervous about switching to induction in our new home. However, I've found the cooktop to be easy to use, extremely precise with temperature, and cleanup is a breeze. I cook on it almost every day and would highly recommend this cooktop.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our new 36" 8669 series induction cooktop is a wonder. It's controls are more intuitive than other induction units I've seen. It heats up the stainless steel or cast iron pans very quickly wnen needed. On the other hand, it has a lot of low heat options for simmering. 2 of the 5 elements even allow you to maintain the pan at a constant temperature. Efficiency is very high and the power only requires 40 amps rather than the more common 50-55 amps. There are some bluetooth features for controlling hood lights and hood fan that are of no use to us. Controlling the cooktop from your iphone also seems to be a solution looking for a problem. Using this induction cooktop rather than our old gas cooktop is better for indoor air quality and better for long term climate change. Even the cleaning is easier than our old gas unit. What could be better?!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the cooktop for the past 3 months and so far so good. I love the feature where you can set a timer and change the heat level automatically. I use the home connect app to check on the timers and use the phone notfication when the timer goes off. The only thing I noticed is that when I use the boil mode, the cooktop makes a noise.
