I recently purchased the Trio Max portable monitor. I bought one monitor to set up with my M1 Macbook Air. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the monitor. It immediately enhanced my work experience and offers exceptional mobility and a variety of setup options. My only issues with the monitor are that it is unable to connect to my computer through a USB meaning that I cannot use my normal USB adaptor (as the Mac does not have USB ports) and the monitor at the same time. Additionally, while not incredibly problematic, the resolution on the monitor is not as sharp as I would have hoped but is more than sufficient for the work I am using it for. Overall, this is a 4-star product and one that I would highly recommend.
I was sent to work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, and as I don't have enough space for a second monitor in my room's desk, I resorted to use my TV for that purpose. It never felt quite well, mainly because of the distance and size difference from one display to another, the feeling that I was sending my app windows to "another device", and the lack of mobility (only as far as my HDMI cable allowed). Now with my TRIO I can move freely from one room to another, and my second display feels more integrated and "natural" both in size and the physical and mental "effort" required to connect it, use it, and think of it as the same device. I love it! I wish I'd heard about months ago...
The good: great screens, great cable management, weight, love the magnetic attachment vs the competition, appearance and 3 way viewing for conferences. The bad: flimsy connector between the 2 screens, no way to charge my computer once the two power/data cables are attached. Once the screens slide out the bracket is not sturdy enough to hold their weight so you need to rest them on the table.
Monitor set-up is easy, and resolution and functionality is great. As far as constructive feedback goes, the triple monitors can tilt a bit to the side once mounted on the laptop even though they are clipped together on top and bottom as I thought it would be a more solid configuration. However, they still function great.
I have found that this is a great addition to my effective use of the laptop. I have suggested it to the company I work for as a alternative to purchase of second monitors for laptops.
