LG - 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - Stainless steel

I renovated my entire kitchen in the fall/winter of 2018. Bought all new appliances including a microwave. Just a little over a year later the microwave won't heat. It's out of warranty. Had to buy a new microwave and I will say it wasn't an LG. Terrible customer service and product. That shouldn't happen in just over a year.

We put in the over-the-stove LG microwave to replace our 21-year old Frigidaire unit. Install was no problem. After installing the LG mounting plate I lifted the LG microwave into place until it engaged the lower lip of the mounting plate. I then lifted it to a near level position and had my wife slide the LG box onto the stove and slide it just under the microwave. We checked the two top mounting screws were correctly located and completed the install. All works fine since the install. Had it for about two weeks. This model does not have turntable rotate on/off switch (it always rotates) but that doesn't bother up. We never turned the turntable off on our old microwave. Two comments on ergonomics... The front panel buttons are just a little harder to push than our previous model. Viewing the clock digits get a little cut off when viewed at an angle from the left or right sides.

I am mostly, but not completely, happy with this microwave. It looks good and does a great job of cooking. But it has no timer. Since I have seen basic models with timers, I expected this one to have one. I use a timer frequently so am very disappointed this model does not have one.

I bought this a month ago and installed it in about an hour's time. Choices that need to be made for auto defrost, reheat, and soften are labeled as numbers rather than written out so need a cheat sheet nearby until you memorize what each number represents. The dark interior hides food splatter but also makes it harder to see inside. All in all I feel it was a great buy and exactly what we were looking for. The instruction manual isn't very instructive. The power button doesn't allow me to change the power. I just went in to buy an extended warranty and it wouldn't let me. The best thing about the microwave so far is the nice man who installed it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
