I would like to love this dishwasher but it's less than 2 years old and over 1 year and the rinse aid dispenser is defective It constantly leaks rinse aid along the bottom of the entire dispenser unit. Adding product is only a waste because it will all leak out in a day or one wash cycle. We had previous profile products and decided to get another one. But like everything in America these days the product has become very cheap and is not a quality product
I installed our dishwasher and thus far, it functions great! It hangs out a little more than what I think it should as I can see part of the control panel located at the top edge of the door; I think it sticks out approximately 1/2 inch and as a result, the handle sticks out approximately 1/2 inch further. I actually installed it completely and ended up pulling it back out as I thought I botched it because the control panel was partially visible. Turns out, I installed it correctly the first time (frame of washer sitting flush with cabinet face). It's VERY quiet with the only real noise being the water circulating within the dishwasher itself! It's sleek, I like the feel of the control panel and as it's installed right now, I can see the "clean" light (perhaps that's just the way it's supposed to be). Super easy to move the upper rack up and down to accommodate larger dishes on bottom rack. Oh, and I keep forgetting about the thin tray that slides along the top; I'm sure there's likely silverware or other flat objects that have been cleaned several times. 4 out of 5 stars ONLY because it looks strange having part of the control panel sticking out from our countertop when the door is closed.
I like having the three levels where I can place my large utensils. I also like the Microban feature on the dishwasher. Another great feature is the water bottle washer clips. Also, very quiet!! Fingerprint resistant is also excellent! What I find is that the top rack to fill the cups and bowls is not large enough to accommodate large cups and large size storage bowls together. I feel that I have to solve a puzzle in order to put all the different size cups together. But that does not detract from the good review, its just I have to find creative ways to place items.
The trim on the top started to come off within 2 months. It doesn't clean that well. The pod door only occasionally opens. But the worst part is that the main pump broke 13 months after purchase. Of course, outside of manufacture warranty. I clean the filter basket monthly so not sure why the pump isn't working.
My unit has been leaking from the front bottom door since I had it. GE tech came to my house and claimed it was due to a soap buildup causing suds to build up and the overflow is coming through the door. I only used the unit a total of 8 times so I do not understand how a soap buildup happens that quick. I was told by the tech it was the dish detergent I was using, soap pods. It is my understanding that now I am restricted and can only use powder detergent, I have never heard of such a thing, especially on a new current unit. In my 50 years of life I have never seen or heard of such a thing happening. Sad thing is I love the unit and it washes and dries the dishes so well, but very disappointed I am stuck with one that leaks and GE wont fix the problem.
