LEGO - Marvel Spider-Man Daily Bugle 76178 Building Kit (3,772 Pieces)

We bought this for my son's golden birthday. He loves it! His only complaints for the building experience were the redundancy of the windows and the challenge of Doc Ock's arms. As much as we love it, a little easier on the wallet wouldn't have been a bad thing either. Other than that, it's a great set -- he's been wanting it for years and it did not disappoint! Special highlights are how easily it can split apart into modules and go back together again, the intricate details in the rooms, and of course all the minifigs!

Lets be clear I very nearly did not purchase this set. As a collector of Lego modular buildings I had doubts that this over the top Marvel monster would clash with the sleepy old world charm of my 'Lock Down Street' project. My wife was even more adamant, " Don't buy that, it looks daft". But, I did and I love it. I added a standard white Lego lamp post on the front and increased the depth of the pavement by a couple of tiles to blend in with the rest of the street and just like that it looks wonderful. OK, as I chose to display all 25 mini figures on the outside front of the building its definitely 'busy' out there but I don't care. Oh and the wife thinks it looks fantastic, " its so much better in the flesh than it looks in the photos and although I can't explain it, looks really good in the street ". So in summary a gamble that paid off. Well done Lego.

This lego set is Fantastic it's massive and everything I've ever wanted. There's only two things I would change and those are,electro,rhino,Spider-Man Ben Reilly and Fisk minifigures. I know it's a picky thing but other than that there's nothing wrong with it.

I really enjoyed this build. Sometimes the level of ‘fun' in a build is overshadowed by the amount of technical ability to make a great final product, but I feel this build had a great mix of both that excited me on how to build cool centre pieces of the build, while still keeping each section fun, fresh and entertaining. I think the products biggest flaw is that it isn't the most structurally sound building in the world, and there is still a tiny bit of wiggling in the building even when fully built. The front windows coming off is great to look inside, but I think they are a bit too easy to fall off and compromised the structural integrity of the build somewhat. Either way, this was a joy to build and I think certainly worth that value comparatively to other builds. 100% recommend!
