This is my third access lorado cover on my third truck since 2005. My last lorado was 9 years old when I sold the truck and it looked and worked like it did on day 1. You can find cheaper covers, but I would rather pay for quality up front and be done
We use our truck to camp. Our German Shepherd takes most the back seat of our crew cab living minimal room for gear. Gear must go in the bed, with this cover all our gear is stowed in a dry place. We had this cover on our old truck for five years with absolutely no issues so knew it was must have for the new one when we traded trucks.
I had this cover on my 2010 F150 and liked it so much I bought one for my new 2012 Ram 1500. Installation is a breeze. I like the way it fits inside the truck bed rather than on top. This allows the use of stake pocket tie-downs. I installed it in about 30 minutes being careful to get the side rails straight and level. Looks great! OK...Edit after having product for 2 years. I am having problems keeping the clamps on. The rear clamp continues to fall off even when tightened to the max. Also, the rubber seal that attaches to the side rails has started to slip upwards which leaves a bad appearance. I will be looking for a tonneau cover that doesn't use this type of clamping system. Well, after writing the above I was surprised to receive a package from Access with 6 new clamps. I didn't ask for it. This, I believe, shows the level of customer service provided by RealTruck and Access. I am very grateful for the new clamps and certainly didn't expect this. Kudos to RealTruck and Access!
From order to installation, this was a pretty darn good deal. My truck looks good and people ask where I got my cover, no doubt, I refer them to "Realtruck". The order, customer service inquiries, delivery, and installation exceeded my expectations. I am confident that you will receive the same.
Pros: Easy installation, good documentation / labeling, adjusts easily, operation is simple. Cons: Alignment is not flush with the bed rails. My installation assistant was my 6 year old son. Installation was easy with him and a set of cheap spring claps to assist with positioning the rails. Once in place tension was a little high and the release was binding. Fixed with a couple of turns on the adjusters. The positioning of the rails are about 1/4" lower than the bed caps in order to meet at the top and tailgate for proper seal. Barely noticeable if you were not the on installing. Seals well and complements the truck nicely. Once tension is adjusted, it opens and closes with ease and has kept the bed dry through several heavy rains and while driving. It does appear from the trucks diagnostics that there is around 1.5 mpg difference when running the open road with the cover in place as averaged over the first week. This may not seem like much, but with gas at over $3.50/gal that can save over $10 per tank. The cover can pay for itself within a year.
