Rubbermaid Outdoor Medium Deck Box with Seat, Green, 73 Gallon

This is a great seat but not good for outside storage as sunlight comes through every seam. Yet the description says its made for storage outside. Anything I store in there will be subject to the weather and bugs. Also the lid has a place to put a lock, but the lid does not line up right. I am very disappointed, especially because I believed Rubbermaid was a good product and paid more because it was Rubbermaid.

This is my second deck box from Rubbermaid. Even though the colors have changed, and now there is a place for a lock, I expect this new one to hold up to hot summers and cold winters just as the first one is still doing! That first one is at least 10 years old. Rubbermaid is a brand that I trust for quality.

Very nice, not that hard to assemble, though the directions are lacking especially regarding the "hinges" which I never figured out. Another thing I found lacking was that there are not any handles or hand grip areas for picking it up to move it. This is a big container and really needs grips or handles. Overall, very sturdy, good looking piece. I bought it to put on my potion to store my three 5 gallon gas cans in and it fits the bill.

VERY POOR instructions, NO handles or wheels to move it around (my fault for not viewing that), and when put together, the top lid did not line up with the lock hole at all, so can't lock if we wanted to. The tabs have to be all knocked out before putting together - WHY don't they have that done? But honestly, not very much in way of instructions and you have multiple little divits to look at and have to know which one is the one you put the screw into for the strap to hold lid. Can't believe this in not made in China because more like the instructions come from there. Had to choose this one because of the measurements where it was fitting.

Nice product and is well built and easy to assemble. The straps that are used to keep the lid from going to far back need to be re-designed. Just connecting with a small screw will not let straps last very long. Very poor design for such a large company.
