HART Heavy-Duty Steel Digging Shovel with Fiberglass Handle and Anti Slip Step Tread

My old shovel snapped at the base. The way it was built there was no replacing the handle. So I was looking for something that wouldn't break easily. This shovel is built well. Thick gauge metal and a fiberglass handle that I'd guess would be very difficult to break.

Bought this shovel two weeks ago. Its heavy duty looking and feels solid. Used it twice. Normal light digging. Second time using it the head of the shovel ripped in half. Not happy at all with my purchase. Going to attempt a return and will be buying something of better quality.

This is my 3rd shovel I'm the garage but my 1st Hart and now the 1st one I grab when needing to use a shovel. It is very comfortable in the hands and extremely durable and ridged. Some of the other brands can be a little week in the hard clay ground that we have here in the upstate but this one lowers right through the ground with no issues. Thanks Hart.

The cutting blade is refined and penetrates much easier than my old shovel, the fiberglass handle is comfortable, durable, and lightweight. This shovel made easy work of digging a trench in my backyard to bury a new sewer line. Highly recommend.
