Shipping was quick. canon camera equipment in the box intact and solid, but i changed my mind and got me something different that i really liked the shopping experience and i was able to return/exchange thanks to their great return policy. My only place to buy solid camera equipment #sweepstakes
There are lots of reviews out there. This is a great full-frame camera and the EF 24-105L lens is a great all-around lens. Given the high ISO performance of a full-frame camera like this, the F/4 limit rather than F/2.8 is not as much of an issue regarding light. But if you need more background blur and always shoot in low-light, then the F/2.8 would be better and you might want to skip the kit lens in that case and use the money towards an F/2.8 lens. Canon took certain features away that it included on the EOS 5D Mark III, presumably to not cannibalize EOS 5D Mark III sales. The cheaper AF system doesn't bother me, though I've never tried the 5D III to compare. Canon limits the shutter speed to 1/4000 second. In typical use, one would not miss the faster 1/8000 second shutter speed. But on a bright day at a fast aperture and low ISO, I have hit that 1/4000 and wished I had the 1/8000. But I can do without it, especially given the major cost savings over the 5D Mark III. For in-camera HDR, you are limited to JPG only. This is fine with me. If I go to the trouble of shooting and processing RAW then I'll do the HDR processing manually as well. There are 2 toys this EOS 6D comes with which the 5D Mark III does not include: GPS and Wi-Fi. The GPS feature allows you to track where each picture was taken and also allows you to see your route and each picture in a Canon map application for Windows. It's neat. The Wi-Fi, combined with Canon's free Android EOS Wi-Fi app, lets you connect the camera directly to an Android phone and then run that app to remote shoot or remote playback and email right from the camera via your phone. I've used this at events a number of times, and it's a nice option to have as it saves from having to do so later. Another feature it has, which other EOS cameras probably have, too, is that you can set the camera to automatically adjust the ISO even in Manual mode, if it detects that your chosen shutter and aperture will result in an under-exposed image. This is a great learning tool, in my opinion. I'm happy with it.
Pros: Quiet, Large Clear LCD, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, High ISO Performance, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Easy To Use Cons: Lack Of View Options, Poor In Low Light, Poor Focus In Lower Light Other thoughts: Would like more options available to user when using Live View option. Great speed. Great camera. Pretty heavy camera for the casual photographer.
Pros: Great Resolution, Good in Low Light, Good Battery Life, Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed Cons: Other thoughts: The camera is better than I thought. I am still learning it. I love the way the pictures can be blown up without looseing anything. The speed is great, that is why I bought it.I need a flash, a wide angle lens and a tri pod and I will be complete.
Pros: Good in Low Light, Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Great Resolution, Good Battery Life, Large Clear LCD Cons: Other thoughts: Great camera, excellent battery life, I would recommend it! I use this primarily for equine sports photography and portrait photography. It works great for both.
