This product works to clean your washing machine, but I wouldn't use it just for fun. I didn't really need to clean my washing machine, I just happened to have it so I tried it. I has a really strong smell, and lingers after you run it. I read other reviews online and they said that it could potentially stain your clothes after use, so I ran another empty load to avoid that and it was fine. So like I said, definitely does the job and I've had smelly washers before, so I see the use for this! But wouldn't do it as a preventative measure because it's high maintenance. This Tide Washing Machine Cleaner is used and loved by my entire family. This washing machine cleaner worked great. I forgot about a load of laundry in the washer overnight. The next day the washer smelled like mildew. I used the Tide washing machine cleaner for one cycle and the mildew smell went away. I also noticed that my clothes smelled better as well. I carry my tide pen everywhere. Comes in handy often. 9 out of 10 times I am able to fully get rid of the stain or at least pre treat a stain which then fully comes out in the wash.
