I bought 5 of the #80123 8' folding picnic tables for a church pavilion and while I love the sturdiness of the tables, assembling them was challenging. The legs mounted under the tabletop easily, but the holes in the tracks on the underside of the seats had to be reamed out with a step bit. The tubes that had to go into these holes were the same size as the holes. This meant reaming out 8 holes on each table. Suggest Lifetime enlarge the holes a little to accommodate the tubes.
We bought this table for my parents as a Christmas gift from Walmart. When Memorial Day was around the corner, we got the table out of storage, loaded it up (heavy!) and took it over to my parent to assemble it. We carried it around the back of the house, opened it up and started the assembly. When we tried to put the hinge portion of the legs into the rails, they wouldn't fit. We called Walmart to see if we could box it up, bring it back and get another one coming. Due to the time that we had purchased the table to the time we were assembling, Walmart said we had to contact Lifetime. We did so on the following Monday. Lifetime said that it must me the power coating and that we need to take pictures and send to them for them to consider any help. So we went back to my parents on the following Sunday and took the pictures. We sent the pictures and at this point, they said to use sandpaper to remove some of the powder coating. So we went back to my parents to start sanding, after sanding for about 1/2 hours on 1 of the 8 hinge legs, I said this is crazy. I called Lifetime to let them know I wasn't willing to take a day sanding the legs to make it work. They hesitantly sent new rails and leg hinges. Once we received these, we went back to my parents and tried to assemble the table. Once again, same thing. I called Lifetime to let them know that the parts were bad again and that I would simply like a new table sent that I can assemble. The response was that they wanted me to measure the pipe size and rail hole size and then drill the holes out. I went to Home Depot, bought a stepdown drill bit ($80.00) and was able to get things put together. I called Lifetime to let them know what the measurements were and let them know I fixed the problem. As compensation for my time, several trips to my parents and $80.00 spent on a tool for a 1 time use. I asked if they would send me parts to make another complete table since they had already sent me 1/2 of the table parts to correct their problem. Their response was "We will send you a $100.00 gift card to Walmart". Well I have $80.00 wrapped up in a tool I don't need and my time is worth much more that the $20.00 for 3 trips to try and fix their problem. Very disappointing from a company that we have purchased several tables from and tout that they have great customer service. Hate to say it, but I will not be purchasing anything else from Lifetime. Very very disappointed that they wouldn't properly step up. For those that are considering this table, beware that you will most likely run into the same assembly problems that I have.
Worst buying experience of my life!!!
Nice picnic table that folds flat for storage! Seats a crowd. Watched assembly video along with instructions that was helpful.
Great product; Poor customer service
