Good for the money. sandpaper tends to tear more often than the same paper on my old black & Decker sander. but it is a good sander. I use the regular sandpaper and cut it to size and use the hole puncher that comes with it to poke holes. When the paper tears, the tear is not through the holes. Maybe the paper designed for it would last longer.
These are very good sanders. They are light-weight and have a comfortable hand hold. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, and this shape and weight are such that I can use it, even on a "bad" day. Having worn out two already, this is my third purchase for my use. Also gave one to my sister. She likes it also.
JUST NEEDED SANDER TO SAND SOME SPOTS ON DECK SO WE CAN REPAINT. WORKS GREAT FOR A SMALL, LIGHT WEIGHT SANDER. ONLY INCLUDED ON SHEET OF SANDPAPER IN BOX.
I have owned these model Black and Decker Sanders for the past 6 years and they seem to have a three year life span for me. Every three years I am back at Wal-mart buying another. I had always returned to buy a new one because 1.) the price is great 2.) It fits the hand very comfortably 3.) It works well. This sander is 1/2 the price of the Dewalt, Milwaukee and other sanders. The sander is not quiet and I usually wore foam ear plugs while using it. The sander is also "messy," it definitely blows sanding dust around, with or without the bag. Outdoor or garage use duty only. 1/4 sheet sanders are the best sanders for small jobs in my opinion because you don't need to buy more expensive hook and loop or sticky sand paper-which saves you money! Not sure how powerful the motor is but as long as I use the correct grit paper the little sander did just fine. I believe what kills these sanders is excessive downward pressure or prolonged side loading from angling the sander or only using a corner of it.
filter coming apart at ends, I should of bought the other model with hard clear cover protecting the filter.
