I got this for the house so I didn't have to use the big one. It holds the screw! That is like a third hand, to me. It has a charger which doubles as a holder for a wide range of bits, including a drill bit to make starting holes. It also has a 'star' bit that I see the need for, more and more.
I use this drill at least several times a week to fix things around the house. The ability to set the screw length is wonderful and helps prevent stripping out screws.
it worked right out of the box and did not need to charge overnight it was not allot of money and it fits in great with other tools i use also black and decker
I am on my third one of these. Not because they broke, but because I've idiotically left two behind somewhere. I am a field service tech who does computer hardware installs/repair/cabling/telecom. I can't tell you how many hours I've saved using this little guy to screw in untold wall plates and taking down/rebuilding printers (for those unaware, the numbers of tiny screws in a printer is maddening). Also used to drill pilot holes, drive RU rack machine screws, and even poke holes in wallboard (4" phillips bit, punch the back of the drill.... instant hole for 1 CAT5/6 cable!). I prefer the solid pistol grip of this driver over the straight stick style or convertible styles. I like the fact that you can put full "oomph" behind it (unlike sticks) when needed and not fear it snapping in two (like twisty convertibles) The battery lasts forever: I charge it over the weekend (if I remember to). It's tough: I beat the bejeezes out of it. It is a Mini Brute: I've driven 1" #12 screws into 3/4" plywood backboards. That is near it's tipping point but it does it. What a joy not to have to break out the bigger drill all the time. I hope B&D never stop making it. Maybe I should stock up on a few more.... before I lose this one.
I bought this a few years ago like it very much rite size for little jobs around the house but a few months ago it stop working and does not hold it charge any more and the worst thing about it .it was a christmas gift from the kid what a waste of money ....it was a 2011 mode ...used it about 7 times ,worked great before it died....
