We've gone through about 8 fan forced ceramic space heaters for our basement, each of which would last about 1 year. After finding this Honeywell and seeing there are no moving parts to get clogged up (we live in a very dusty part of the country) we decided to give it a try. We could not be happier! 1) It's silent!!! Only makes a few small noises when the thermostat kicks on. 2) It heats 900 sq. ft. comfortably, better than any other space heater we've tried of the same wattage. We live where it dips below 0 most of the winter. 3) So far it's lasted 2 years and is still going strong. 4) It doesn't get clogged with dust or pet hair (or anything else fan forced units suck in) The only negative has been the on/off switch baked, but it was an easy fix that took 10 min. Some reviewers say it has no heat control??? It does, it's called a thermostat. Others say it can't heat a 10x10 room. It's my only source of heat in a 900 sq. ft. basement, and the temp stays at about 72 all winter...I do keep the door to my basement closed to hold the heat in. My local store does not carry this heater so I'm online today to buy another one.

These won't even heat a 10 x 10 room.

I bought this heater on 01/02/10 to heat up my living room. The heater does not have a fan therefore, unless you want to sit directly in front of the heater at all times it does not help. I'm taking it back tomorrow. This product also sales for $42.00 online as a clearance item however, the store charged me $60.00. Guess the store didn't hear that it was a clearance item. Poor communication!

I purchased this heater due to my heat going out this weekend to add some warmth to the den until I could have an hvac person stop by on Monday. This thing didn't hardly make a difference. Couldn't even tell it was there unless you sat right beside it. I purchased a smaller quartz heater and it's almost like a sauna in my den now. The sunbeam quartz heater was $20.00 less expensive and works much better. My thermostat went up in temperature with the cheaper quartz heater but didn't change a single degree with the honewell heater noted hear.
