Everstart Maxx 15 Amp Automotive Battery Charger With 50 Amp Patented Engine Start This is a good Machine. It has more options than any battery charger I have ever owned. I am an ancient man, I have owned several. The “Check Alternator” feature is amazing. How many times have people bought a new battery when what they needed was a new alternator? Thousands and thousands, that's how many. Millions would not be a stretch. The majority of consumer battery chargers do just that. Charge batteries. The addition of the patented 50 Amp engine start lifts the Everstart Maxx well above any competition. I have not found a fault- 5 stars.

I got the EverStart Maxx Automatic battery charger & maintainer to help with charging my cars’ batteries. One of our cars is a very old car (think 1986 old…) and I keep it in the car to make sure it is always there when I need it. I really appreciate the 6 foot AC power cord, as it gives a decent length to be able to plug into the current. The LCD screen has easy to read icons- being that it is written in white in a res background, I have enough contrast to be able to see it when it is not bright lighting (oh, the perks of getting old!). The silver handles on each side are helpful for lifting. It is lightweight and not too heavy to hold! The clips require some strength when opening, but they are not impossible to open. And they are not huge- they fit in the palm of my hand! I definitely recommend this if you ever have a frequent need to charge your big batteries (works with truck, SUV, sedan, motorcycle and jet ski).

It is easy to see and feel the difference between this new EverStart Maxx Automatic Battery Charger and Maintainer and our old-style battery charger. This EverStart battery charger is less than half the size of our usual battery charger and is very light weight. This one is small enough to keep in my vehicle for emergency situations and has an easy-to-read LCD screen with familiar icons that anyone can understand. The directions are easy to follow and they start with hooking the battery charger clamps to the posts on the battery. The LCD screen on the battery charger will indicate if the clamps are placed on the correct battery posts. The charger will automatically detect the condition of the battery and if there is an issue, will display a fault indication icon. The screen clearly indicates when the battery is charging and when it is full and ready for use. There is also an alternator check function. The engine start function is excellent if you have left the lights or radio on, run down the battery accidentally, and the vehicle will not start. Just hook up this charger according to the directions and when ready, the unit will beep and let you know it’s time to start the vehicle. It takes less than 1 minute to charge the battery for an engine start. This unit will also recondition the battery or let you know if it just needs to be replaced. I am thrilled to have a battery charger that is lightweight, compact, and easy for me to carry. I can easily hook the charger up by myself and start my engine if I have accidentally drained the battery. I would definitely recommend this EverStart Maxx battery charger and engine starter for any woman who travels alone frequently.

In the past 6 months I've went through 3 of these. Brand new out of the box, they boiled over and ruined 3 of my batteries three different times. Thrid strike you're out. Had i not went and checked the batteries the next day it probably would have caught on fire. The amp regulators must be defective in these units. Instead of charging then maintaining the battery the "smart charger" it's advertised to be it was sending 16 amps continuous! I will never use them again, I guess you get what you pay for. Also if a battery is really dead then the charger will not detect an adequate 12volt to turn itself on. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of having a charger. I will never by nor use these chargers again! I can't trust them.
