The day it came, sadly it looked like it was sitting around for a voule weeks. The quality was poor at best, but it was not rotten so in all fairness I feel I wasn't entitled a refund and didnt ask for one. I would never have picked up this romaine if I was in the store.
i would definitely suggest this item, however, this last one i purchased was a few days from the expiration and some of the outer leaves were discolored. i removed them and disposed of before I washed it. the inside leaves were fine. just the outer leaves were discolored.
I honestly don't know why I continue to buy waste my money on this product. 90% of the time the Walmart employee chooses the package clearly showing the old and or damaged produce. I throw away at least 20% every time. Are they taught to do this specifically to the unsuspecting pickup customers? I certainly would never choose the packages they do if I were able to be in the store and could see them.
The romaine lettuce delivered to us is often quite brown and by the time u cut all of the brown off, u r left with very little lettuce. I've wanted to complain but I'm not sure if the driver is to blame so I can't rate that person poorly. By the time I saw this email I had already used/thrown away any proof for pictures.
This Romaine lettuce is a great buy! You get three heads of lettuce in the package. I cut one whole head up at a time, rinse it and put it in my salad spinner (that I also bought at Walmart) and give it a good spin to get the excess water out. It is much more economical, lasts longer, and tastes much better than the pre-packaged salads.
